Care to share any of their contacts so they can refer their friends? Emailed a couple of your guides but none have replied so far.

Depends on individual preference, for me i like Ubud, more relax.

Kuta will have more shopping, clubs and pubs compared Ubud.

No comment about seminyak.
The problem with Bali is the traffic jam and the one way road.
So even its just 3km away it can be "far" as in the time taken to reach the place.

From kuta square to legian road, it did took me almost 30mins. Its just more or else 800m away doh.gif
We were very tired to walk but regret taken the taxi doh.gif

Drive. But i would advise you to ride a bike instead. You can zoom thru the traffic. But not recommended for beginners.

if really need a car, But it is better not to drive yourself. The jam will kill you. Better to hire driver. thats my preference.
The jam is so bad even i sit in the car i felt annoyed.

Thanks for the tip.
I'm planning to a trip on the Raya week. So I guess the traffic would be worse.

Any recommendation for a driver?

Previously I used a driver. He was recommended by a friend and he's quite alright actually. Just tell him your plans and he'll give you the suitable recommendations during your trip. I'm not too sure about his rates now though as I've yet to email him for an upcoming trip next year probably. Haha.

The traffic there, to be honest, all beginners or 1st timers there should not use the bikes there. Only after a few trips there that it'll be recommended to go to places yourself.

I previously stayed in Umalas Villas and it was great. biggrin.gif

Sure. His services for me and few of my friends that used him before were really good. Do ask him for more info on scams and places to shop, he'll tell you. smile.gif I'm not too sure what's his rates now. Haven't been contacting him for quite some time now as I'm traveling north. Haha. Tell me on the rates after you've used him?

Haha. Mine was very different/random/customized for our wants and needs. We had time to go for shopping for RL, go for the famous Orchid Spa after water sports etc etc. You should seriously go for the Balinese Spa Massage in Orchid. biggrin.gif

Some might say his price is higher or something but up till now family, friends, colleagues have been giving good reviews for him. biggrin.gif

You party? Haha. There are some good places to chill out there.

My usual plans - Go there shop for some RL and some other smaller things, go for watersports and few hours of spa. The rest, I'll leave it up to my driver. Haha.

If you like waterfalls, there were several waterfalls that my friends went such as Gitgit. (This will take a lot of time.)

Lovina for dolphins?
