Hi guys, would like to know anyone have any recommended recond car dealer, heard that Cahaya Auto, Yap's Brother in Cheras Auto City all gives bad experience
to many customers?

How bout Watan Auto Credit Or Wana beside Oldtown White Coffee in Taman Midah Cheras...

Or should i look for it in NAZA are more secure...

thanks..

Lol, I agree on above statement.

To avoid being con, do your home work, short list the model you want and know it really well. When you were there, only look at the model in your list and check all the features, test drive, you can even demand to send to your own workshop for inspection.
Never let the sales person to recommend you other models, never being rush to pay on the spot, always tell them "let me think about it". Visit more shops like that for the same model, Cheras, Jln Ipoh, Sg. Buluh, ...
If you can do that, chances of being con is less.

Good luck.

haha so appalling but yet so true.

One more tip, buying cars that comes with a service record booklet is safer too. blush.gif

But bro, I m going for a recond car so I guess dun have any service record, sometime I dun mind to pay wat I see, just tht I worry after I confirm tht unit, then they took and changed some lousy part in it when deliver the car...

Some might change the whole car if we never check chassis number...

By the way, I m already not expecting any 'service attitude' from them cos all are dog eyes...

Be wary of low mileage. Most likely it is much higher and they just turned back the odometer.

Yah, I dun believe in any mileage read on the dash board just tht expecting get a lower mileage than the others..

Eg: hope to get a 30 40k mileage instead of a 80k mileage above...

Guess all the recond car mileage to be less than 20k as projected there..

guess no choice then. bring a mechanic to check for you engine condition/rust/welding points...b4 you even consider.
Its a huge risk, but manageable if preparation is made thorough.

Agree, especially on that in bold. Really focus on the car you want, best if just one car only so you can do proper research and really know it inside out. So when you go to the dealers, you really know what you're looking at and also can counter any bullshit that the sales will throw at you. If the sales get the impression that you're very knowledgeable about the car, then they also think twice before conning you or talking all sort of BS to you. This impression they got of you is important, you must not come out as a newbie or one that does not know much about cars. Visit and test drive as many as you can of those that seem to fit your budget and criteria for that particular car. This activity will give more experience & knowledge to you when you compare them.

Well for mine, I found out that they put a wrong spark plug type! They put the same plug as other regular Toyota's (Camry, Estima, etc.) even though my Toyota GDi engine plug type should be different. They probably already stock many of those normal Toyota engine spark plugs so they just use it on my car. The car indeed still run fine and no problems but probably not ideal. Found out this when I brought my car to a Toyota/Lexus specialist, so then need to change to proper ones.

Unless you buy recon which is only like 1-2yrs old, then the rest 99.9% recon car mileage is already rewound back! What you need to do is examine the interior closely, see how the leather & upholstery condition especially the driver seat, steering, shifter, driver side knobs/controls, handles, and pedals to determine the usage. If they look very worn out then surely mileage already pretty high. If they're still in pretty good condition, then should not be too bad, maybe rewound by about 20-40k only instead of 50-100k! biggrin.gif

Audi TT.. this would be a lot easier as the car itself has filtered 90% of the car dealers for you. It's not a matter of finding a good dealer first but rather finding a dealer that has the car you want. I won't see too many shabby dealers holding TTs and it wouldn't be so diffcult to filter them out once you find the one that has your car. I mean you are not looking for a common car that every tom d*** and harry dealer has one.

Homework:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_tt
http://www.mudah.my/li?fs=1&ca=9_s&q=Audi+tt&cg=0&w=3&st=a
http://m.oto.my/cars-for-sale/?keyword=audi%20tt

Also check out official Audi:
http://www.audi.com.my/etc/medialib/ngw/se.../tt_pi_2_0t.pdf
Check out per owned http://www.audi.com.my/sea/brand/my/used_c..._pre-owned.html

Test drive the new car at Audi, then can start visiting Naza, Bxxx Sxxx shops and listen to the Sales man talk and test drive. At this point you should be able to tell what is what.

As far as I know, Audi mileage is not so easy to temper with, you find a work shop that has a VCDS software and cable, connect to the car, everything will come out, even check if the ECU being upgraded or not. Stage 1, 2 or 3. The VCDS is a good investment if you have a VW or Audi.

Your best friend is Internet, start searching for more.

Just for knowledge, the miledge display on dash can be temper with easily but there is another storage for the actual miledge, read here http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-sportba...using-vcds.html
That was in 2011, maybe now some freak can change also that.

Focus on the car first, not the dealer. So find as many cars then test drive them from as many dealers, then compare. Only then you can get the best price with the least chance of getting cheated. No point recommending dealers if they don't have the car you want, and most of them are the same anyway which is trying to con as much money out of you!

Look for an owner selling directly. Once you find a suitable seller you can bring in a dealer if necessary to settle the bank loan, buy the car and sell to you. You may find it easier to apply for a bank loan this way. Not sure how much the dealer will charge but you probably won't lose out compared to buying direct from dealer with their high markup and processing fees. At least you know the dealer's buying price so you he can't whack you.

Yes, you can sell directly yourself but i had to settle the bank loan by myself as the banks do not do contra payment from 2012 the banks do not do contra anymore, so those of you do not have cash to settle the bank loan you can forget about selling yourself, is some new bank negara rule. But if you have the money to settle they usually charge RM3000.00 without settling the bank loan for you.

I normally deal my trade ins and putting my car at First Mile Auto at Cheras so they would help me sell my car with a commission, would not promise you that they are the best (different people expect different service so depends on your service) but so far i have deal with them and they quite reliable, they are dealing in re-con and used cars and they have some rare cars there too.

you can go to thier website and get contact number from there.

www.firstmileauto.com

Hope this help you guys!
