I got a letter from UiTM to attend an interview on the 17th May since I applied for Certified Account Technician (CAT), one of the Professional Certs.

Anybody know what questions are they gonna ask? Or things that we have to do during the interview? Im kinda curios since unlike the interview for architecture they ask to draw and stuff.

Probably around the line of "why do you want to take this professional course?".

Just play it cool, try to answer every questions, and if you can't, just bluff your way through, they mainly look at your level of confidence and how well you conduct yourselves; though great answers to the questions given help a lot.

Do attempt to converse in English unless the interviewer preferred it in Malay. But I would have think that the interview will be in English as they are looking for candidates that are highly proficient in the language. (There will be tons of reports to write once you move on to the ACCA itself)

Have confidence, wear appropriate and smart attire.

A black suit and long sleeves shirt with a matching tie will never failed to impress.

I wish you luck in the process as I am thinking of pursuing my education in CAT too. Currently doing Standard Grade (O level/GCSE) in Scotland right now.

Thanks for the tips mate. I still think that they are like gonna ask to do some stuffs and not just ask questions, heheh. Maybe like balance an account or something?

Nope, my mother who is a lecturer at Uitm said that you DON'T actually need any accounting background to do the course.

In fact, they somewhat preferred science stream peoples..... since well.... science students are generally smarter...

Oh ok then, that line explained alot. Im a Science Stream Student anyway.

Just recieved another letter from UiTM stating that the Interview date has been changed to 11th May..which is next week .

I'm not going for an interview, I'm already here. Haha. Second semester CAT. Basically, they asked general stuff, mostly personal questions. There's even a written exam, mine was 'What was your impression upon first seeing UiTM" or something of that tangent.

Since there's not too many of us and the students can get really friendly with the lecturers, a lecturer 'fessed up, telling us that they chose based on our English proficiency and our appearance. Overly make-upped future prostitutes sporting scantily clad clothes? No. Some very urban Kampung Kid who can't speak a word of English? No.

Just dress appropriately and speak confidently and all that stuff.

...Actually, I thought the interviews ended days ago. Those with over 7As were given straight admission while those not faring as good had to be filtered (Both groups were interviewed nonetheless).
