Damn you!I thought it was really some xperia z photos and when i clicked it my parent was nearby me!Damn you!  

Not having any issue with it on stock .253... Maybe some apps have access to Device Administrator..? The only app capable to clear my memory is Cerberus... Don't know if the problem apply to external sdcard only...

i think im getting this phone tmr
just a couple of more questions before i go full force on this phone

1. i just googled "enable mass storage xperia z"
-> it seems like i can only enable this for external SD card?
if i were to flash a CM10.1 rom, will it be able to enable for both internal/external? as i do not want to install bloat software on my laptop just to transfer files (like itunes )

2. right now i could only think of 1 question (alot has been going on my mind)

however, i do know there is no perfect phone, so there's always a give and take.

New settings so far that I noticed in 4.2.2 update (or maybe they were there in the first place but never notice them):

1. Wifi optimization in advanced wifi setting. It says "Minimize battery usage when wifi is on"

2. Some new features in Call Setting, such as TTY Mode (Don't know what is that???), Speaker Voice enhancement, Slow Talk My Bad 

3. Of course the Display setting now includes Daydream and Quick Settings for notification panel

4. Love the new transparent Top and Bottom Bar. Now the screen feels very, very large. One thing I notice is when you launch an app like WhatsApp or SMS, the top and bottom bar will turn black again.

5. Camera now includes preview setting which allows the captured image to be instantly previewed. As for the camera performance, can't say much. I usually use the normal setting. Tried the updated Superior Auto Mode, the picture is almost on par with normal mode

6. Lockscreen now enables you to put widgets. It feels like you have 3 screen, swipe left screen is for your widgets and swipe right screen is your camera. And the camera launches faster now.
That is it for now, still exploring. Sony seems to be doing a good job currently. Hope they can keep it up.

i have a question..

assuming i've rooted my phone and currently running .253 official (LOCKED BL)

and if i were to update to the 4.2.2 when it comes for the XZ, will i lose my root privileges?

Mine 423 update is very buggy and laggy.. The homescreen is laggy.. The notifications bar can sometime stuck at middle when dragging down. Transition is slow.. Dont know y..

Ya, before that I root as I want the semi transparent bar, now ....... maybe i still root for one single thing only - the smaller navigation bar. But even no root also ok.

Now I just know how good Sony build the phone, root is not really a required anymore as the phone itself as stock already run pretty smooth, not like all previous Samsung Android phone where I root mainly for hoping better performance.

I shall much earlier try Sony rather until now, I use too long on Samsung and always skip Sony previously due to Sony always one step behind on hardware spec, but now I just know this is not important since Sony can make one step behind spec running even much better than others, especially Samsung one. Not bashing Samsung, but this is my truly experience on it.

Samsung phone/tablet I own/use:

• Galaxy S II-G, this is nightmare everyday hang phone, I sold it after a month usage.
  
• Then I switch to Galaxy S III, it can't really run smooth in stock, I need AOKP/AOSP/CM to satisfied with it due to 1GB RAM issue which can't really stand Samsung hunger touchwiz home launcher.
  
• I also buy Galaxy W for my sister, it is actually worst than my old old phone - HTC Nexus One.
  
• My another sister also buy Samsung Galaxy Note II due to my suggestion, this phone is perform quite nice but ..... still it do hang sometimes, not frequence, but it do happen. I do find smoothness in Note II is awesome.
  
• I myself also purchase 1st Android Tablet, Samsung Nexus 10, in earlier firmware, it hangs everyday, now is much stable, can last long around 4 to 5 days, but still occasionally hang.... terrible, I am really happy just sold it last week.
  

Now waiting my coming soon Xperia Tablet Z, I believe it can perform much better. Stability is really important and Sony do success on stability.

One thing about RAM usage, it's not the amount of RAM that is used that causes the slowdowns in the Galaxy series. It's the services that are running i.e. the Air Gestures etc that slows it down considerably.

In Linux, free RAM is generally wasted RAM.

Still waiting for the update for XZ, it's nice to see that some of you tried the 4.2.2 Android on the XZL and rooted XZ.

I'm still on stock, waiting for updates. Come on Sony, what's going on?

Some of the improvement & features that I like about 4.2.2 on ZL
1. Customisable quick settings on slide down notification window
2. Official ps3 ds3 wireless support
3. ExFAT support for MicroSDXC

How can the XZ counter Note 2 :

- it lacks a stylus
- is smaller display only 5 inch
- battery life is so much worser
- audio quality is worser even with patches
- even with root, you cannot install apps directly to external sdcard unlike Note 2

Note 2 is a different category, now commonly known as phtablet

A fairer comparison is with HTC Butterfly, HTC One, S4,
