i tried to understand more about triluminos so do a little research bout it. so what i understand so far was that this triluminos is a technology that enables LCD TFT displays to show a wider range of colors, and thus to display images that are richer and more vivid.

So i was wondering since triluminos is a technology and the screen use it still a lcd tft, which is the same as in xperia z, is it possible that this technology can be put into xperia z via firmware update? The TFT displays on the Xperia Z, ZL, and other older devices from Sony have been criticized for their washed out colors and poor viewing angle. see the comparison photo below,



and another thing, the x-reality engine, is an image processing technology that enhances the images and videos displayed on the Xperia Z Ultra. It makes pictures look sharper, reduces noise, improves contrast, and fine tunes saturation.. those who already try the honami mod, and installed the x-reality engine, did u c any significant improvement over the current BraviaEngine2?

what do u guys think? is it possible that our xperia Z can be like in the photo?, like the xperia zu screen i mean.

All LCD is TFT, even IPS is TFT, this new Z Ultra, Sony only mention is Triluminos TFT, is it IPS? no idea, know is it got good viewing angle. Confirm different type of panel, viewing angle is not possible can be fix by software render, it may slightly enhance it but not possible extreme change over it.

For me, X-Reality had better color output than Bravia 2, look much life like, not that crazy saturation. But that mod X-Reality is slowly (slow motion) enhance the photo, so you can actually see the changes.

I never use backup of recovery, so no my business. haha!

in that case I hope in the future all Sony phone will use ips panel. btw the best screen I hv seen so far was the HTC one slcd3. .2nd is my iPhone 5 retina display, 3rd s4 superamoled 4th is my xperia z. if look directly to the phone I would say my xperia z on par with iPhone 5, n beat my wife's s3 screen.

u r a daredevil actually back when the time I used my xperia arc, I never once do a nandroid backup. all the time I flashed never cause any problem luckily. but this time on xz, I did few backup just to be secure.

Same. I'm turn on data, GPS, auto sync like that always. But I saw battery drop coz of it. 15% in 8 hours like that.

with honami mod... when viewing contact, picture can display full pic or still mid section only?
