i thought AP and ORI difference only warranty period?
its the warranty itself that is different. 1 is from samsung malaysia another is from wherever you buy the phone from.

Get it from a reliable seller with a shop eg DirectD, satugadjet, item.com etc
Avoid those operating from kiosks. They might not be around when you need them
I have zero problems with AP sets n only make claims on SME sets past 5 years
yeah i was thinking of that as well, get from a reliable seller, the price dropped 100 bucks since the release by maxis. might wait 3-4 months more. hopefully competition will drop it a bit more.

Dun get AP, even from 'famous' dealers like directd, 1gajet, itemdotcom, etc.
They are cheap bcos
Their technicians are not trained properly. just depending on trial&error. Especially for new models, u dun want to become guni pig.
Shops are not run professionally. No proper SOP. Like pasar and service always depend on the moods of the ahbengs working thr.
i guess it is true if you send it in, my experience with my SGS2 is that i my warranty after 2 years didnt get used even once. so whats the point of paying more for the ori and getting tied down by a telco (which i hate).

to me, it is still more expensive compare to carrier subsidized price.
but since you don't want contract, it should be no different then

honestly, i really hate being tied down by a carrier, i kena 1 time, and never did it again. today i can always look at maxis with my head held high and tell them i want better service because i am not under contract. once you sign that shit, you get the worst damn service in the world.
