A blanket statement but custom roms (AOPK/AOSP) generally are more battery thirsty than the stock rom.

Another thing to consider is that since Samsung is being tight-arse with the Exynos source code, I dont see custom rom beating the stock rom in functionality/stability unfortunately. So it looks like touchwiz rom is here to stay on my phone sweat.gif

On the other hand, Andreilux is continue bringing his awesome kernel to S4. Perseus kernel now has UV support, colour calibration, hardware audio amplifier tweaking. Without doubt the best kernel thumbup.gif

So far that's the ONLY kernel I saw for S4.
It's still in alpha stage of development right?

Please refer to the most epic answer ever already.

Seriously.

ROM usage patterns are highly individual. If you like TW stuff, stay with TW based ROMs. If you like to be bleeding edge and can stand losing some TW functionality, go CM/AOSP. Be prepared for worse battery life as ivanchin said.

I do not have an S4 but like to kpc off and on.

There is another one Adams kernel.. But the last release was almost a month ago sweat.gif

And no. It's alpha but not the conventional alpha.
If you get what i mean.

Let me quote the kernel developer himself

QUOTE
Don't be scared by the alpha denomination of the kernel, I'm just taking the traditional naming scheme where alpha designates feature development, beta is feature-completeness, and final will actually be when I'll actively stop developing the kernel. The kernel is very stable, and any bugs are fixed in hotfix versions (alpha x.y)

If he really wants to be helpful he will teach others how to register by e-warranty instead of asking them for their IMEI. His intentions may be good but others with bad intention may copy his modus operandi. These IMEI nos can be collected and SOLD.

That's because as a SME dealer , only he can register it for u via SMS . Are u a SME dealer ? Even if he teaches you how to do it , can you do it ? And do u know why he offered his service ? . He did it cuz it's a free service , just a simple sms and details but there was a forumer asking for "donation" for helping them register their phones . And that was how he started offering free service to forumers here .

Stick to stock for now , custom kernels for both i9500 and i9505 got bugs . U lose sound in i9500 unless u reboot your phone and there is a wifi problem for i9505 , need 2 flash another file to get it working .

Permit me to say a little about this issue.

We have all sorts on the face of this earth. Even when I sometimes point out the errors posted, instead of taking cognizance some take offense. So it is not uncommon when people have doubts. But all need to look at the wider spectrum. And in this context, were anyone 'harmed' giving out the details thus far? So far, not a single soul. Therefore, the proof is in the pudding and all skepticism should be dismissed in this instance.

Lastly, whoever that have stood corrected must accept rather than raise further hue and cry and most times irritatingly.

the only way is restart your phone. i've tried many ways even went to digi centre to asked for a new sim card. they said they're installing the new satellite for LTE so some of the lines are interrupted.

OEM products come in various grades. If you buy the highest of the lot then in every likelihood, it is good. But if you get a cheap one, chances are it will not function well and not last long.

Thanks for the reply. I think you don't need to restart your phone. Just toggle the airplane mode then it'll work. smile.gif
Anyway, apparently, this is pretty common in xda forum. shakehead.gif

I'm not sure why our dear forummers are not seeing this.
I believe there should be quite a few of us having the 32gb lte version?

Can the OEM case when you flip case cover , can it wake n close display? If so than is worth buying
As for quality of material used you have to look at it yourself to determine whether acceptable
