QUOTE(noookiller @ Jun 4 2013, 01:56 PM) Definitely! S4 16GB Non-LTE = 2199 S4 32GB LTE = 2499 (not sure if its offical) HTC One 32GB = 2299 edited In terms of price, I guess HTC One is doing very well. But you lose removable battery and MicroSD card slot. edited again But you can't put games onto SD card anyway. Only those who likes to save files/photos is a big advantage for them. You can put games into SDcard after rooting and running GLtoSD or other post-root tricks.

QUOTE(noookiller @ Jun 4 2013, 02:08 PM) Yes,sorry forgot about that Only for rooted, but not many like to root ? like me ? QUOTE(steventan85 @ Jun 4 2013, 02:11 PM) LOL....are u going to install 4-5 big games inside ur S4 and play in the same time ? i used to be install 10-20 big games (1gb+) in my iPad2 32gb and end up i never play at all some of it .. delete the games whenever u dont need ... housekeeping is important not all ppl like to root.... some buy phone and prefer to use it with stock firmware Rooting doesn't change anything in your phone. It just unlocks some settings so you can be free to use your phone as you like. You can just root and carry on with your stock firmware. You gain various other unlockable powers though. If you don't root, then you are limited. Rooting does not mean changing a ROM and all that. You don't need to. I was on plain rooted stock for many months before changing ROMs again.

QUOTE(steventan85 @ Jun 4 2013, 02:19 PM) can we claim warranty if rooted ? no right ...still need to unroot and get rid of the red exclamation mark ...not sure for S4 , but S3 got red exclamation mark if not mistaken...pls correct me if im wrong ... You are right, but Samsung rooting and unrooting is far simpler than HTC. No s-on/s-off and various weird steps.

QUOTE(MsiaqweR @ Jun 4 2013, 02:28 PM) In this corporate world and today society, not many have the time to learn how to root. I believe only 1 out of 10 are rooted phones. Then what about ipong jailbreaking? People happily pay RM50-80 (maybe more) for the "privilege" ? How many do you think are jailbroken?

QUOTE(steventan85 @ Jun 4 2013, 02:33 PM) ipong jb is extremely easy... one click and its done...same goes to un-jb.... believe me , android jb is too many steps and complicated ..... i jb my ipad2 in 2mins...done... no need to worry , juz click next button and its done... There is the All-in-one one-click toolkit for Samsung rooting, perhaps unrooting. Well we can all wait a little and see the tools improve.

QUOTE(noookiller @ Jun 4 2013, 02:35 PM) Hmm,not all are geeks. Nowdays these high-end devices are also used by our auntie/uncle/grandpa and so on. I don't think they find rooting is interesting? Rooting in and of its own is not "interesting". It just unlocks all the doors in your house. I mean if auntie/grandpa is using for some FB and Candy Crush then no rooting needed. If you want to play the nice 3D games, not being rooted means all the stuff is kept in your living room only, and you can't move it to the store room.

QUOTE(noookiller @ Jun 4 2013, 02:43 PM) *nods* lol,my main reason to buy high end is because of rpg-game-on-the-go +1 This Personally, RPG on the go, especially the old Baldur's Gate etc, is better enjoyed on something, like 6" or more otherwise the icons and graphics are so tiny. I have an 8.9" netbook and it was just borderline playable due to the size of the sprites on the screen. And when you factor in the onscreen controls it's not going to be a nice experience on 5" or less. I mucked around with the BG Tweaks and made the screen full resolution, and I suppose if you did that for your S4 at 1920x1080, you won't be able to see anything man.

QUOTE(kmarc @ Jun 4 2013, 09:41 PM) Damn happy with my S4. Already almost 4 days and still at 19%. However, these past 4 days only light use, some internet, phone calls, sms, downloads, bluetooth..... [attachmentid=3471558] Had problems initially though.... media server eating up my battery. Had to reset to factory setting and reformat my microSD card. So far so good. Drops about 3% from 12 midnight to 8am.... Screen on time? Tap on the Screen line and provide that screenshot.

QUOTE(kmarc @ Jun 4 2013, 09:52 PM) Owh.... what's the significance of that? Here's the screen shot anyway: [attachmentid=3471605] Screen on time, or SOT, indicates how much you've been actively using the phone. It is the best, although flawed, measure we have of battery life prowess. If you had SOT of 10mins but 7 days of total battery life, it shows that the phone was simply left on standby. Typically SOT should be at least 2 hours for most smartphones, and total battery life of around 10-18hours. A phone like Note 2 achieves 4hrs SOT and 16hrs battery life total typically.

QUOTE(KennyKB @ Jun 4 2013, 10:06 PM) Doesn't the S4 LTE version come with only 4 cores? What a shame! The 8 core version is only able to use 4 cores at any one time. Nobody has a fully working 8 core ARM device yet unless it's some expensive server chip.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jun 4 2013, 10:36 PM) Most of my recent snartphones SOT of at least 4 to 5 hours is common. For Note 2 will be at least 7 hours up to 9. Your quoted figures is too low Being conservative, since I've read on, say Nexus 4, they seem to average 2+ hours only. My personal SOT tends to be around 4hrs+

QUOTE(madman20 @ Jun 5 2013, 11:23 AM) I've got this issue.. my main suspect is my memory card..but gonna ask around first if anyone here is experiencing this Issue:» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « After snapping a photo, the gallery crashes, returns to camera
Accessing the gallery manually and selecting the recent photo to view..gallery crashes and returns to apps tray
Restarting the phone will then show the "image not available" for the recent photo
Watching videos all okay, until after a certain period of time..error show "unable to view file type"
Restarted the phone and can watch the video again
Only happens to media files on memory card, no issues with medias on internal memory
Steps taken: Reformatted the memory card using the phone, dates shows the day I formatted ie: xx/05/2013 (I did it somewhere in May)
After the occurrence AGAIN of crashing of gallery, I noticed that the date is no 01/01/1970 [attachmentid=3472227]
My phone's details: [attachmentid=3472226] Suspect:Memory Card - SanDisk MicroSDHC 32GB Class 10 MOBILE ULTRA EDIT: Pardon the white dots..I enabled the touch points via the dev options Sandisk is known to have problems, since last year.

QUOTE(yccheah1989 @ Jun 5 2013, 02:53 PM) hello, wanna ask that where is the nfc chip in S4? is built in the phone or the back case like note 2? thanks IINM it's in the BATTERY. It's the antenna I think. Even the one on the Note 2 back case is the antenna only.
