We have this black African scorpion.

We noticed today that it is dragging its tail around, and it's venom sac seems to be discolored. It's tail joints look raw. It's underbelly seems kind of soft.

He seems pretty lively...even ticked off...except he has these things wrong with him. He looks like he might die soon.

Does anybody know why this is happening? Could the crickets be doing something to him?

Is he in pain maybe? Should we, like, euthanize him by putting him in the freezer or something?

We had a previous scorpion die. It seemed like it had outgrown its shell or something. It seemed to get squishy. We did everything the exotics guy suggested.

These scorpions are really cool...they actually have a personality...and we'd like to have them as pets, but not if we are doing something to hurt them!

Can anyone advise???

I guess you can call up some vets and ask if they treat exotic pets like scorpion, if not you can always try zoo negara, they have exotic vets there that also treat peoples pets.
