I need some help in my research.
I am looking for building industry companies in KL (or branches in KL), preferably design or contractors. May be Malay or foreign - does not matter.

I need to do a work experience (4 months to be specific) as part of my final year of studies. I am interested in big companies - maybe ones that have graduate programmes or something...

If you know or have experience working in such company I would be grateful if you could help me.

thanks

the company szhould be one of the below:

KLCC Holdings Sdn Bhd, Midciti Resources Sdn Bhd, Consortium Petronas Tower I [Hazama Corporation, Ho Hup Construction Company Berhad, J.A. Jones Construction, Inc., MMC Engineering Services Sdn Bhd, PS Mitsubishi Construction Co., Ltd.], Thornton-Tomasetti Engineers, Flack + Kurtz

what help do you need?
it will be my utmost pleasure if im of any help for u
I am really glad to read that!

I am not Malay. I come from Europe, I have absolutely no clue what companies are there in Asia. I already did some internet research but it is much easier to ask - which I am doing right now. Example: I have came across situations when employers didn't want nobody but malay workers. I would like to avoid such situations and save my own and other people's time.
Generally names of the companies is the help I mentioned... If I happen to find (here) a person who works for a company I may be interested in, and that person will direct me to somebody from HR making it easier for me ... well that would be too much of a coincidence - wouldn't it? I would be delighted than...

Anyway, as I said: company names is already big help. Thanks a lot.

say it a bit simpler, Industrial Training, Internship......
I have come across different names for that: Industrial Placement, Practical Placement, Internship ... regardless of how you call that - I need (and want In fact!) to work in a 'building company' (my course does not specify exactly what sort). I want some civil engineering experience.

I know that (in Europe at least) big companies have graduate/under-graduate programmes which make it easier to get a job.

I've nothing against medium or small companies but those are much greater risk for me...
Do you know what I mean?

I've one more question:
What is the approximate cost of living in KL? - say you try to keep it low and don't spend too much.

where are you from? i think it is better you find those company near to where you staying now. The pay they give usually is around RM500 or less. so you really need to budjet.
I am from Poland - ever heard of it? ; )
I already had half a year of placement in there. Now I want to see haw you build things in Asia - I am not planning to save any money. I know that I could do the placement in Europe and hope for a good wage...

poland?  sweat.gif
currently there are no any KLCC size building in progress, except for terrence house, apartment or office building.
KLCC size? are you kidding me? There never were and there never will be! Poland is no place for such constructions. Basically I think no country in Europe is building anything special at the moment.
Amazing how fast countries like Malaysia develop. That is why I want to go there.
