"Next Monday" is their famous quote  rclxms.gif

Every customers they just say the same thing. Ie: "we are waiting the device to be shipped from Taiwan Sir"

I've heard this for 2 times in one week..  doh.gif

In conclusion, they memorize a script and repeat to every customers. That is what I think.
*
Haha, at least they tell you that now. Before this was "we no stock sir, dunno when it's coming".

QUOTE(JulianOne @ May 29 2013, 11:04 PM)
Kurogane right? yea..according to him is 14 days.. hopefully it was true..
But if you go to HTC Malaysia facebook..you will cry when saw those complaintsssss

The most serious one that I saw just now.. HTC One X sent in for 2 months never get the device back yet.  shakehead.gif
*
Yes, pretty much 2 weeks needed. I bought the phone 14/5, sent in 15/5, get back 28/5. And oh, I should also add this was after I call and pester them so much they escalated it to the manager.

I would suggest trying the same thing too, just be suitably polite, but sound angry enough.

As one of the people who probably caused a negative perception to the HTC One, I want to say I did it to highlight that, like every other goods and services you may use or purchase, there will always be chances of negative experiences and I wanted to share it out so that people can make better judgements.

Sure, it was disappointing to lose my phone for two weeks right after buying it, but I still got it back in the end. And I still think that HTC One's Sense 5.0 has some seriously non-intuitive UI design choices and silly lack of features, but well... so does every other Android UI skin and even stock Android has its fair share of complaints.

On the other hand, credit does have to be given to HTC for raising the bar on Android phone hardware design and jesus christ, the stereo loudspeakers totally rock.

So in the end, if you're planning to buy or not.... it's always good to make research on other user experiences but that should not be construed as the EXACT experience you will get. Some people (like me) will get unlucky, but you might not be as long as you take the precautions and be an informed buyer.

And, if you still don't like the phone, just resell it off! We have a very vibrant marketplace here in LYN, and there's always other listing sites too.

tl;dr HTC One got good, got bad, in the end up 2 u to choose.

After reading you guys discussion and i found out my top of the phone has kinda long stretch of gap too. A4 paper also can slide in.  doh.gif
Already texting my reseller if they can do 1:1 replacement. Just bought it last Saturday.

I think that's the normal build. The gap on the front pieces on top and bottom is not zero gap. My unit also like that, service center say they don't replace for that 'gap'

QUOTE(ArmedandDangerous @ May 30 2013, 03:53 PM)
I just got the most imba delivery to my office........

UPS courier come to my office, admin told me I got package.  So I go take la.  See two huge boxes and the guy ask me to sign.  I thought what they send, loyal HTC customer for so long maybe they give me 2 box of free phones or what xD

So I start carrying the box, wtf heavy.  About 10kg for both boxes sleep.gif  So I read what's on the box.  Got my name and my office address, then it also say SiS Distribution.  So I like, wth?  So I open la to see what the heck is inside.

Open already first box, was like wth?  1 whole box of courier documents, empty and all packed nicely.  Courier waybills....

Second box, even bigger than the first.  Opened it, 1 whole box of UPS courier envelopes.  Wtf??  I straight call HTC, they also like dono how to handle, I ask for Helen they say not in.  The guy also like panic, he say call me back later.  Still waiting xD

HAHAHAHA OH MY GOD, that's hillarious. So they basically somehow f***ed up and sent two boxes of their office shit to you? Amazing service.

QUOTE(cleoleeps @ May 30 2013, 04:11 PM)
Haih.

Reseller asked me goto SIS.
SIS asked me go looking for HTC.

Not sure HTC would ask me go back to SIS again or not.

I still would like to hear what they say about it but the service experience....  hmm.gif

QUOTE(cleoleeps @ May 30 2013, 06:44 PM)
I followed SIS instruction calling to HTC support line 1300-800-482. From the conversation, it seems they want to see how many ppl or handsets affected by GAP problem then may take special actions to address this issue.

The support rep wanted my imei to file official ticket. He also said I can send the email directly to HTC for filing my issue.

I work in pc industry so I know if there is high amount of complaint, the manufacturer would take actions such as treat this as real issue. Maybe recall or an official instruction to service partners to fix it or replace it rather than pointing us here and there without proper process of what to be done.

Just some sharing of my experience so far. It's up to those affected to consider filing ticket or not.

Actually it seems that HTC itself got a local company here, probably handle the support number, promotion and marketing stuff? Meanwhile SiS is the reseller/distro company. SiS handles not just HTC, but other brands also actually.

Would like to ask, your gap is it on the front side or the back side? Front side I think is normal build so you can't really exchange probably...

Mine is front. No matter what, how come the bottom ok but the top has gap? Both up and down have slight curve so should exhibit the same nature but it seems there is slight and tiny build defect.

But well, this phone is not cheap. 2.2k. So I just choose my way to let them know I'm a little bit not happy although the phone gives great experience in general. I can live with it but they should be aware of it. Dust may go in since A4 paper also can slide in. Would it clog things inside in the long run? I dunno....not expert...

I dun wanna solicit all ppl to be against them. It's ur choice. So beware. I'm not sure creating a thread as suggested may put us in trouble or not....
*
Yeah of course you can ask them.... just saying that they might not entertain it. Like I said, I did ask about the gap on my new unit when I took it back on Tuesday, the people there said the front part there got slight gap won't replace unless it's over 0.2mm or something.

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 31 2013, 11:27 AM)
YES, this HTC One is indeed I'd say the warmest/hottest phone I have used so far. It is about 3-5 degree higher than say Note 2, S4, Xperia Z for same tasks. You'd feel the warmness more also due to its metallic casing which conducts heat better
*
QUOTE(ArmedandDangerous @ May 31 2013, 11:49 AM)
Yup, the One is a bit hotter than the HoX when gaming, but it cools down so so fast cos of the metal body.  Other phones usually have plastic or glass bodies, and the heat is trapped inside.  This makes the outside seem less hot but the insides are all crying to cool down tongue.gif
*
Agree with this, the heat is considerably noticeable compared to my Galaxy Note. Haven't tried to use for extended amount of times yet.

QUOTE(ArmedandDangerous @ May 31 2013, 12:26 PM)
It's senseless and it's nonsense and makes no sense to buy a non-sense HTC Android phone wink.gif

I... actually would go for a non-Sense HTC One.

I am only 5'5" and I am a small build guy. I already find the HTC One ( and S4)  is too small . I am using now the Pantech Vegra 6 ( 5.9 inch display as my main phone ) and has also order the 6.1" display HuaWei Mate ( expect to get it 7 Jun). I can never go back to smaller display phones. I take these phones out only when I go out for my exercise
*
Totally agree with Uncle Benny here. HTC One is quite amazing and pretty, but I still prefer to use my Galaxy Note more, so much more easier to read things and type long posts on it.

Now if the 5.9in HTC T6 is real, might totally consider upgrading to that over Note III because I love the speakers.
