Since you guys are now comparing S4 and HTC One

To be very frank, I not sure what makes S4 far more superior than HTC One apart from microSD and removable battery.

Based on the facts, HTC wins S4 in the following areas:-
Low light camera performance
Aluminium build which results in more solid (Watch drop test HO vs S4)
Dual stereo frontal speakers which is far more louder than S4
No physical home button on HO
OIS on camera

tho i love HO, but i want to highlight some of S4 features wins over HO  biggrin.gif  so that ppl will think before buy.. anyhow, good consumer knows the product before buy

S4 goodies:
always wins over HO on benchmark tests.. so if we list down here, it already a few features such as CPU processing power, GPU power, net browsing speed etc. (i'm not good at this, but can read over the web)  whistling.gif
bigger screen
[what impact does it make to have another 3,000 Antutu score in today smartphones, I even feel TW is more lagger than Sense]
Amoled (goody or bad? personal preferences)
[I din mentioned SLCD3 is better than AMOLED]
expandable storage
[I have an OTG]
removable battery
[Only this area S4 wins but your lose a solid unibody construction]
longer battery life
camera pixel density (doesn't mean the S4 camera won in a whole whistling.gif only pixel ok.. hehe)

I felt that many here trying to disable or uninstall Blinkfeed. Why?

For me I think Blinkfeed is very good, very much better than Pulse, Flipboard etc.

Blink feed is limited to those set by HTC
You cannot assign your own feeds
Beside it,  I use feedly

I believe moving forward, HTC might improve it. Otherwise, xda developers will enhance it.

Perhaps to include LYN threads.

One of the best reviews I have ever read.

From our famous developer mike1986 written by him 5 June 2013.

Every company has their own strategy in designs. Samsung had proved again to the critics that keeping their own design signature cues in their phones is still a right move. Personally I don't find Samsung designs "horrible" or any other manufacturer phone designs. In current stiff competitive market, I am sure Samsung and Apple know much better than all of us in deciding its design.  You can point out what you dont like about it.  If you dont like any of the phone manufacturer design, just don't buy it. Personally design is in my lower rank of criteria in buying any smartphone. No phone manufacturer these days comes out with ugly design - it is just a matter of whether one likes it or not. I have openly said here I had never like HTC One design on its front speakers ( though many of you will disagreed ) but I still buy the phone for its other purposes/value. I still prefer S4 design over it anytime and I own both phones

According to mike1986, he is quite impressed with the design of the HTC One. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hey guys,

I got an idea here.
Since there will be a Google Edition HTC One with much more cheaper in price, can I just buy this phone and later flash ARHD to become a usual HTC One?

Will this works?

So if I have alrdy rooted, is it advisable to s-off?

For me I will still continue S-Off.

Only S-Off will guarantee you a confirmed permanent root.

Wrong.  With the HTC One, you don't need to S-Off to flash kernel from ROM through recovery.  Unlocked bootloader for the One can do that as well, no fastboot needed.  S-Off advantage for the One is only to get the LOCKED status back.
*
No, S-Off has several advantages over Unlock via HTCDev and not only "LOCKED" status.

1) Only S-Off will guarantee you a permanent root.
2) To claim warranty as the status remain "LOCKED"
3) Can flash the boot.img directly and no need to flash using flashboot before flashing the ROM
4) If there is a HBOOT upgrade that depends on CID, you do not need to wait for the official HTC one. S-Off can flash the newest HBOOT directly.
5) Only by S-Off, you can flash a new or updated Radio to improve performance of your phone.
