Kajang: Seorang lelaki sanggup bertindak kejam terhadap ibu kandung dengan memukulnya menggunakan kayu hingga koma, gara-gara wanita itu menyembunyikan alat kawalan jauh pendingin udara bagi menjimatkan bil elektrik kediaman mereka dalam kejadian Jumaat lalu.

Selepas tiga hari bertarung nyawa wanita berusia 59 tahun yang parah di kepala meninggal dunia di Hospital Kajang kelmarin akibat tindakan melampau anak sulung daripada enam beradik berusia 41 tahun itu.

Bapa saudara suspek, Liew Kuan Seng, 49, berkata, anak saudaranya itu tinggal bersama mangsa, Liew Kim Thai, di Kampung Baru Semenyih namun lelaki terbabit tidak mempunyai pekerjaan tetap dan bergantung hidup dengan ibunya.

Menurutnya, mangsa sudah banyak kali menegur perbuatan anaknya kerana beberapa bulan tidak bekerja menyebabkan dia menyara kehidupan suspek.

“Bagaimanapun, dalam kejadian jam 12 tengah malam Jumaat lalu, anak saudara saya itu menengking dan memarahi ibunya kerana dia tidak menjumpai alat kawalan pendingin udara.

KUALA LUMPUR: A mother swore on her deathbed to never forgive her eldest son for killing her.

“She said she would come back to haunt him as a ghost,” said the woman's husband, who declined to be named.

The woman, identified as Liew, 59, died two days after she was beaten up by her 40-year-old son on Friday.

Although Liew and her son lived in the same house in Semenyih, they had a strained relationship.

Her jobless son would always ask for money from her and this often led to quarrels.

However, the argument that ended Liew's life was over something as trivial as air-conditioning.

He came home drunk at midnight and scolded his mother over the air-conditioning.

It is learnt that Liew lost her temper and caned her son who retaliated by pushing his mother to the floor and hitting her.

Liew managed to crawl back into her room and telephoned her daughter to take her to the hospital.

She was initially admitted to the Kajang Hospital, but her injuries were so severe that she was later transferred to Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

She fell into a coma and died on Sunday.

Her son has since gone into hiding.

Kajang Deputy OCPD Supt Azman Ayob said the post-mortem showed that Liew died from blunt force trauma.

“The case is being investigated as murder and we are looking for the son,” he said.

If you know its calculation, you will find out that air-cond’s consumption per hour is not that “scary” but once you accumulated the usage, it is actually a big amount.

Calculation of air-cond’s usage:

1 HP (horse power) = 746W(Watt) or 0.746KW(Kilo-watt)
1 KWH (Kilo-Watt-hour) = RM0.286
0.746 KWH = RM0.21 = 21 sen per hour

If you ON 8 hours per day (night) = RM0.21 x 8 hours = RM1.71
Usage for one month = RM1.71 x 31 days = RM52.90
This is the monthly usage for 1 HP air-cond.

Summary on air-cond’s consumption in RM:

1.0 HP = RM0.21 per hour = RM52.90 per month (one day 8 hours)
1.5 HP = RM0.32 per hour = RM79 per month (one day 8 hours)
2.0 HP = RM0.42 per hour = RM105 per month (one day 8 hours)
2.5 HP = RM0.53 per hour = RM130 per month (one day 8 hours)
