Anyone sell off portions of their OSK-UOB Emerging Market Bond Fund? Should continue to keep it or not? Now value almost negative already... sweat.gif

Any advise from sifu here regarding this bond?

I may sell it off if it drops below -5% of simple ROI

if for me, thinking of sell switch 2/5 off my EM Bond to CMF, left the remaining in autopilot mode.... let it generate the income from accumulated distribution... currently this bond consist 20% of my overall portfolio...

any opinion?

Guys, remember - Portfolio concept

U can NEVER have a portfolio of all winners, it just doesn't work that way. Even the best fund manager cannot boast of having a portfolio of all winners and no losers.

+1 thumbup.gif

1 strategy I can think of to deal with such volatile funds...maybe u guys can consider.

Let's say u foresee volatility/further losses ahead, BUT u still believe in its long-term potential.

So, u sell/switch out some, make your holding of the fund RELATIVELY small for u. E.g. u used to hold RM5,000, and your monthly cash available for investment is RM500. So, u sell until left maybe RM2,000. Then, as the fund drops, u do DCA to lower your cost per unit. The smaller your monthly top up, the smaller your initial holding has to be. Otherwise topping up won't lower your cost/unit much.

Don't wait until u loss 25% or so, unless u got the ammo to buy in loads. tongue.gif

So, perhaps it'd be a good idea like kabal82 to switch out some

It seems that their processing of payments is getting slower, and slower.

Last year, they processed payments by the end of the next business day after payment. I got (human) email response on the next business day regardless of whether they have received the payment or not.

Now, it is 2 or 3 business days after I made payment, and AFTER I sent a reminder before they "process" it. Same payment method as before. Anyone got the same experience?
*
Nope, usually the same day for me thumbup.gif

It was like that when I first opened an account around middle of last year. Initially, they were quick, no complaints.

Maybe, they paid more attention to new-er accounts. When did you open your account?

To Maybank FSM account from 2 other banks - same as what I've always done, since the beginning.

My question is to do with the trend which is getting slower, including the fact that previously I get a (personalized) response whether they have received payment or not. Now, I don't get anything until I send a reminder.

But anyway, my question has been more or less answered in that no one said they experienced the same thing, so far.

Usually for my case, after I transfer $$$ from M2U to my FSM a/c, I'll email my transaction detail to them... will receive 2 notifications from them (1 manual reply & 1 Purchase Order few hours later) on the same day...

If you're transferring from Maybank2U, just fill in all the info in those boxes. This is what Eugene sent me. No need to send off extra emails or receipts. Will usually get the purchase confirmation within a short time. smile.gif
