Is there any tools that can allow us to grab all the NAV per fund in the platform we desire (FSM / PM) and export them in an excel?

I know past performance not equals future indication, but can use as monitoring tool such as
*
PM I dunno

FSM, u can do this
Funds Info > Funds Selector

Then u do sorting by performance over a certain time period, from there u can see the winners and losers over that particular time period.

Asia large cap will be running good next? If yes, maybe I shall buy in some smile.gif
*
Should be doing better than small-mid caps kua...small-mid caps have been bucking the downtrend lately, as u can see from the Ponzi-like performance of Hwang Quantum laugh.gif

I came across an interesting thread. Anyone wants to share what is their allocation (in %) or each investment?

Of 100% - divided into FD, savings, UT, stocks, ASM/ASB/Wawasan etc.
*
Which thread? Link?

QUOTE(David83 @ Jun 9 2013, 09:02 AM)
FD and saving should be under same category because FD is not an investment as it is longer maturity of saving.

UT and ASM/ASB/Wawasan are under same category because they're not mutual funds/unit trusts.
*
Dave, typo error

Should I invest in MY equity or diversify my Asia (include big cap) to my portfolio? As u know I'm 80/20 exposed. 20% consider 100% is in Asia small cap. (assuming to me PGSF consider Asia now).
*
PGSF = Pacific Global Stars Fund? hmm.gif

PGSF is NOT small cap nia doh.gif

I know lar. Technically it's global fund. But I told you earlier because they shifted mainly to Asia. Ok lar, for discussion purposes consider as global then.
*
It's a global fund currently overweight Asia is the correct way to put it. smile.gif

And I'm not gonna divulge my %, else ppl would be able to guess my net worth tongue.gif

UT portfolio = A
Stock portfolio = A/2
Bond fund to "balance" against stock portfolio = A/2 (yeah it's also a unit trust fund, but I monitor it separate from my other UTs)

Overall my investment assets are roughly 50% equities + 50% bonds, 3/4 in UTs and 1/4 in local stocks

ASM/ASB/Wawasan need time to sell? That I didn't know. Haha! Thanks, David smile.gif

One thing for sure, u cannot walk to their office and walk away with cash within an hour's time lor. With FD, u can (by foregoing some interest).

Hwang Asia ex J Opportunity is large cap?
*
As the name suggests and as per its prospectus, it invests based on prevailing OPPORTUNITIES and INVESTMENTS THEMES. As such, it CAN have some small-mid cap exposure, but I doubt that it will go overweight on small-mid caps. It's mainly a large cap fund.

QUOTE(TakoC @ Jun 9 2013, 09:17 AM)
Pink, so would your suggestion be MY fund? Or Asia large cap? I'm kinda afraid MY fund would anytime go south. Even if its not too severe, but still...
*
TakoC, u sound different today, as if it's your first day in this thread. Your GF/wife using your account? hmm.gif

For moderate risk taker, Hwang Select Opportunity would be great - anchored by Malaysian stocks, foreign stocks capped at 30%. It's HwangIM's flagship equity fund.

QUOTE(JinXXX @ Jun 9 2013, 01:43 PM)
hey guys where can i see my holding by geographic regions ah ?

i know i can see all my holding in equity/balance/fix income..

but what about market segmentation ?
*
U have to do it yourself.

1. Look at your funds' latest monthly fact sheet, here u can see the geographic allocation for each fund
2. Do your own chart

E.g.
Your portfolio size: RM10,000
Fund A: 70% Malaysia + 15% HK + 15% SG, and u hold RM8,000 in Fund A
Fund B: 80% USA + 15% Europe + 5% HK, and u hold RM2,000 in Fund B

HK exposure in your portfolio: (RM8,000 x 15% + RM2,000 x 5%)/RM10,000 = 13%

QUOTE(JinXXX @ Jun 9 2013, 01:45 PM)
focus on core performing regions better ?

how's the EM markets doing ? still hot or cool abit already ?

might want to throw some into EM, dont think i have EM mostly all asia pac/malaysia focus funds... sad.gif
*
GEM underperformed lately, and if you look at the charts for Russian and Brazilian equities, it should have bottomed.

Don't go too heavy on GEM unless u are ready for wild fluctuation

okie.. cause i rmbr somehow fsm got like a chart to show the region one.. cause last time i rmbr seeing it..

it was some java app that created it..

nah won't be too heavy la.. dont know in depth of EM markets put some seeds there hopefully along the line will turn to a fruit bearing tree rather than just a tree, mostly focus on funds in regions which im familiar with...
*
That chart only shows % by fund and % by asset class (equity, bond, cash), no % by region.

Conservative me says need to keep 12 months expenses in cash and FD, cos I'm supporting my dad
Investor me says, "what are the chances of me being jobless for 12 months?"

Not just the time to take to look for job...maybe to compensate for a lower paying job. It will allow you to weather any unexpected storms including home repairs, unemployment, and medical bills. At the very least, the emergency cash reserve should be sufficient to cover up to six months (min) of the following:
Mortgage payment
Insurance costs
Utility bills
Groceries
Fixed payments (car payments, student loan payments, etc.)
Minimum payment on credit cards,.etc
*
My 12 months already covered all that. I'm an akauntan buruk, remember? I do accruals accounting (i.e. insurance payment is made once a year, but I set aside the money on a monthly basis).

I still reluctant to touch my FDs lar, maybe take out a bit more from bond fund to buy more equities. Most decent local stocks now yielding 4%+ at best. doh.gif

12 months of is quite alot right ? since we are like no where near recession or economic collapse ?

think some of those should be shifted into bonds/fix income ? maybe half of the half can put into equity ?
*
FYI, 1 hospital bill can easily wipe out 1/4 or even more of that sweat.gif

wow,..that is "Emergency fund" you are talking about. do reconsider it.
when near recession...yr investment using the emergency fund may already in "RED"
*
^
Listen to unker

When recession, u lose your job, u need cash, your stocks lowly valued, a bad time to liquidate them

Hence it's a better idea to keep emergency funds in FD and cash, NEVER equities or even bonds

QUOTE(JinXXX @ Jun 9 2013, 03:24 PM)
shouldn't that be covered via insurance/medical card and not ?

my thought is to use "Some' of it at the bottom of the curve.
Some?? how much is "some"?
bottom of curve,...when?

for me, i still hv 1/3 EPF saving....when to use it? i am thinking of 18 months from the time i goes down....
*
If u are 50 or older, EPF is touch-able. For ppl like me, got millions (I wish tongue.gif ) in EPF also no use, cos cannot withdraw doh.gif

we hv seen some very severe crisis thru out the past few decades in Malaysia/globally...so far got any bank in Malaysia that chap? further more, after so many crisis world wide, i think the BNM and alot of others had learned alot from it.
i think it should be ok.
*
Malaysian banks have strict liquidity ratios that they need to maintain.

We see worst case so far in Cyprus also suffer a bit haircut only.
