QUOTE(David83 @ Jun 13 2013, 08:43 PM) You can realize some gain and use it to buy to other funds. I'm aiming for Hwang Asia Quantum and Hwang Select Opportunity. Aiming to sell? My profit drop from 20% - 16%

Portfolio took a beating in recent weeks. IRR still standing at EPF-like levels though, very much thx to Hwang Asia Quantum (I bought in early). Looking bleak in coming weeks, but planning to stay put. I invested in UTs with the long term in mind.

Yes guys, listen to Unker gark, "heart must be steady..." But beware of over-exposure to any particular asset class/region though; so long as your portfolio is well-built, then u can just ride it thru This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Jun 13 2013, 09:43 PM

QUOTE(gark @ Jun 13 2013, 07:05 PM) Steady steady...ride it out, top up & balance when you can... I give you an good analogy... If you see your favorite snack/drink having 50% sale off in the supermarket, what will you do? Now... Imagine... If you substitute the favorite snack/drink to your favorite equity/bond... Why should you do any different? Ride with a sampan in an open rough sea might not be as fun as most people think. U may have housing loan interest rate climbing steady up, while your investment sampan bocoh. In time like this , opt for worst case scenario is not a very bad choice .

I didn't recommend for selling.
What I meant is to perform buying new fund for portfolio rebalancing or topping up existing funds on your portfolio.
Selling is mainly my personal goal.

There is so much other choice....... Smaller cap companies are usually the first ones to fall during a downturn.... so its higher risk.
