Finally bit the bullet and sold off my EI Asia Pacific Shariah fund, took the loss of -6 % . Will rather use the funds to invest in other worthy funds, since it's the best time for topup, all markets tanking worldwide

QUOTE(yklooi @ Jun 12 2013, 03:10 PM) I received explanation from FSM. The "Cost" column is calculated using Available Quantity multiplied by Weighted Average Cost (WAC). WAC is calculated using gross investment amount divided by Available Quantity. Example: Bought RM1000, received 1754.58 units. Available Quantity is 1754.58. The WAC is 1000/1754.58=0.5699369. Cost is 999.9998. (after rounding up, it's 1000). Later, sell 500 units at NAV 0.568 (intra fund no SC). Now the number of units is 1254.58. The WAC remains the same. So cost is now 715.0314. My calculation: 500 units at NAV 0.568 is worth RM 284. When I deduct this amount from the initial RM1000, the remaining is RM716. There isn't much difference when the amount is small but can notice the difference when amount gets bigger. |

QUOTE(TakoC @ Jun 13 2013, 08:39 PM) Should I sell off all my holdings, realize profit and go shopping. Or maintain and go shopping. If go shopping, at least I still can realize some gain right? You can realize some gain and use it to buy to other funds.I'm aiming for Hwang Asia Quantum and Hwang Select Opportunity. |
