i always thought that the best way to learn a language was classes. and conversation.

unless you have discipline and a talent for language.

I used to be really enthusiastic about learning Japanese, until I realise, that not learning my own mother tongue (Mandarin/Chinese) seems to be.. well, a bit of a betrayal of some kind. <_< I've decided to stick with Mandarin until I get better of it, then only move on to Japanese. :P

well, it depends on what level u into to go. i need to study to a veru high level. takes all the fun away. u might be able to speak through animes but to understand is another matter.

dictionaries are helpful but u cant learn a language just by using it. it doesnt teach u alot of things.e.g, mairimasu and ikimasu both means go but if depends on situations to use which one.most dics dont tell u how to use it. u need a teacher for tht.

worse languages? english. laugh at me all u want but i believe english grammar makes no sense at all..

i see where you are coming from. you are learning japanese enough to listen to NHK 1900 news while most people are satisfied with understanding whats happening in Naruto.
