zRAM/SWAP is a kind of paging algorithm then to swap out unused RAM to disk? This is what I know from computer OS architecture.

So for 2Gb devices, paging swaps are not necessary then...
*
What I read was zRAM is the compression of memory in the RAM, allowing the RAM to have more free memory but it uses more CPU to compress and re-compress it hence sacrificing speed and battery life. In most cases, for phones with less than 512MB, this is the only way to make the phone faster.

While SWAP is the paging memory, just like our PC. Back in the olden days when we were still on DDR1 RAM sticks, the rich kids would spend SGD150+ for a 1GB thumbdrive and used it as an on demand RAM. Which made things faster when using Sony Vegas 6 back in 05

Any particular reason why did Google charge to my card USD 1.04 but when the Romow icons are at USD 0.99?

Not the first time but all the time. I'm just clueless but because of few cents,  I didn't want to argue further. Now think back, "sikit-sikit, lama-lama jadi bukit". laugh.gif

I registered my card using a SG address, do you think that could be the reason?
*
GST. There's GST for every transaction whether physically or virtually will be charged to the end user in Singapore.

Hehe. I prefer standardized icons, so no need to scale them up or down. biggrin.gif
Well, for my case likely because I registered my Google Wallet with a SG address.
However, for those using MY credit card also have the same issue.
I don't face this problem when I buy apps from App Store.
*
hmm.gif
Haven't used MY credit card to purchase anything online yet.

I can't find any GST registration for Apple's App Store, maybe they are not registered/based in SG (which makes sense as well since Apple doesn't have any outlets and operations in SG)

is it those charges between credit cards sales and agreement..the one like when you use your Ccard oversea..you'll be paying some extra charges depending IOU between amex/visa/mastercard with the vendor?..in this case with Google store..
*
Not sure, but for my DBS credit card

Every transaction that involves foreign currencies or transactions outside of Singapore will have the currency converted to USD before converting back to SGD, and a 2% charge for Mastercard.

Hi I was just browsing after getting back from outside. Yes, I would be interested. Probably will rip off the built in SP from the Otterbox.

Any links?

Count me into the interest as well EdwinCodec

I turned on Sync for the day, in hope that my FB notification would work.

Which led to lots of Wakelocks.

Probably catchup sync from the last few days where you switched it off.

Maybe nehalem176 can advise.

Why don't you consider 3rd party app for schedule sync for instance clever connectivity, llama profile, tasker, dsbs. If you enable sync all the time, forget about your battery life.
*
I'll give llama a go, tasker is a chore to learn

Anyone remember back in 2008, when iOS1.1.3 came out with added new features like "The ability to send an SMS message to multiple people" which Apple claimed it to be The "pinnacle" of "innovation" from Apple!

How much is a standard Latte in SG ?
Why freeze? Use Greenify to hibernate it until you use it. Freeze means you can't use it.

What is this Watchdog app that keeps alerting you?

Not sure, haven't been to any mid class coffee shops for a while.

I'd say it's about $5

Why is it waking up? Are you playing a lot of movies?

Anyway, one of the better SOTs I've ever gotten despite the use of MyPhoneExplorer in Wifi mode for 14hrs

Note: I was also charging from powerbank which only showed 800 or 900 mAh despite being rated at 1.5A. This is the Yoobao transformer like 13k set. It's letting me perform about 2.5 full charges. Either I got a low quality unit or power conversion is bad.

So ((Xa))0102 you may be on to something here, per your last post about charging between 0.7A and 1.2A

Thank you, and yes what's the widget that displays the "-1.8%/h" again?

Plus my wakelocks have been pretty constant, with different charging rates the SOT varies a lot, especially the difference between 1.2A and 2A

I may be confused here but isn't 4 hours+ screen on time is rather poor?  hmm.gif
*
4 hours is average for WCDMA/LTE usage

For WiFi, it's considered poor.

4+ is poor, but considering I had a 14 hr constant wakelock and 47mins of calls, I think that's pretty good.

When I'm out without wifi, I get around 3.5 - 4hrs, maybe 4.5 sometimes, with constant watching of wakelocks. This one shows a flat consumption graph, so the drop is really low despite the wakelock.
*
How do you control wakelocks? I feel helpless when it comes to wakelocks

Post 8 under Wakelocks, but usually it involves tracking down the offending app, and Greenify-ing or Freezing it, or avoiding circumstances that cause it.

Frozen all possible apps..

Greenified WeChat and those apps that are guilty for it.
