Been using twinhead 121D for 3 1/2 years now. No problem whatsoever. last march send for repair since my laptop always shut-down after 1 minit thay charge me nothing since it still under waranty. Even after i open my notebook. Service ok. The problem lies in fan (never clean it before) and RAM (kingston) but when take out the RAM, no problem, they even screw back and oil my laptop.

Well, it all depends on luck. Nothing is 100% ok.

Well, i think their limited warranty for 2 &3 years is a gimmick. They charge you for the spares and free labour. Do you believe it? They might have charge the labour into the parts already. They can state that their warranty only valid for one year only!

As oppose to Fujitsu at least they are fair they charge free for parts and charge you the labour only.

I bought a Twinhead 121DL (12.1" screen, 1.75kg and Centrino 1.6) last year. Very minimal use. Sometimes 1 week also never use.

So far, changed 1 motherboard under warranty (refused to boot, no POST), and now in the workshop again for much the same thing. At first, suspect the RAM module loose, but still cannot solve. Now re-format HDD, and dunno what else.

But I must say, ABEC service so far is quite good. Since my latest problem started before end of warranty and continued after end of warranty, I hope they don't charge me anything. If they do, my perception is going to go down.....

Would I buy another? Probably not, but I like the price and the weight. So poor man have no choice.

I am a trainer and I use a Twinhead (basic Efio model) for training presentations (the whole day) - no problems at all over 2 years. I don't have any of the problems mentioned above -maybe I am lucky....

Me is using the model as u wanted to buy now. is already 1 year old, so far the problem is wifi and change it before the warranty. so far so good now. But at this price range what i can tell is cant get any other brand with this hardware spec and weight. So is depending on your budget and your luck. Is only my opinion no offence to other?

I'm using a Twinhead model 12K thats using an AMD Sempron 2600+ and its the ultra portable type as you can see from the pics. It weights around 2kg, has 512MB RAM and a 40GB HDD with a Combo drive. Cost me around RM3K when I bought it.

Been using for 2 years+ now so far no problem what so ever. The battery still last around 2 hours. All the keys on the keyboard still works. No hinges problem. LCD still working fine, no dead pixel.

Basically the only complain is the plastic quality. As you can see from the pictures below, the metallic sort of shine will discolor after some heavy use.

FYI I'm a flash and web system developer, so its always running flash + photoshop with IIS + SQL2K. And it has NEVER hang or crashed due to heating or any other problems.

My advice to you is this: If you have the money, get a better brand eg. Fujitsu, Dell, Acer or IBM etc. But if you are cash strapped as me, then a Twinhead might just suit the budget you are aiming for.

Good luck on your notebook purchase.
