I've been needing to get a USB 3.0 expansion slot, but those cards are PCIe (or PCI?) cards. What I curious about is will I get the full benefits of USB 3.0, or will the speed be limited by the speed of PCIe? Do I have to get a new motherboard to really benefit from USB 3.0?

Mostly are PCI Express, but most PCI Express USB3 card are just normal performer i think. and depends on the bus speed and the card. If you really cares about the USB3 speed, get an ASUS board(for example lah, duno if other brand also got this feature) that support USB3 boots, my USB3 Sandisk Thumbdrive can get 250MB/s transfer rate, rather than advertised 190MB/s Block size 8MB, low accuracy speed test via hdtune This post has been edited by 1024kbps: May 25 2013, 08:51 PM
