WMP can't resize video frame with numeric keys. This is essential for most stuff you download from the internet, since video uploaders always fudge up on aspect ratio. With MPC it's only a few key presses on the "6" key to widen the aspect ratio to the right size. Other videos may be widescreen formatted but the uploader neglected cropping, so it's widesreen in TV size, but you have a widescreen LCD. A few quick key presses on 9 solves this.

For codec packs I stand by CCCP. My preferred video format is Matroska.
