Guys, need your recommendation and expertise urgently.

My office's server is unprotected and has been infected by numerous viruses. Can suggest to me which antivirus and firewall to suit Server 2003 operating system?

Low on system resources hogging but good all round protection... any?

Preferably freeware / trial so I can test it out first... or if it's really good but payware, I will propose to my superior about purchasing it.

A server needs one more thing other than Antivirus, Firewall and Antispyware. It needs Host based Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS). Examples:

Novatix Cyberhawk (free)

Winpatrol
Prevx
Blink eEye

huh rclxub.gif ? seriously... what's dat? i thought AV, Firewall and antispyware should be sufficient?

I also think amongst the free antiviruses out there, Avira is the best. I've used AVG, Avast and now stick with Avira.

For paid antivirus, Kaspersky, ESET NOD and Norton seems to be highly recommended in this forum.

have u tried rising antivirus free edition? or anyone else for the matter? how does it compare to the others?

QUOTE(yshiuan @ Mar 4 2009, 11:47 AM)
AVG 8.5 free ed. is better compare to Avira, or still sucks?

once i get false alarms and viruses slip thru AVG's loopholes, I didn't even want to turn back to it. Not sure whether they have improved in their latest version, though
