Hi all, I am going to start my job in Singapore in the coming July. I am staying in JB.
May I know is there a direct bus from CIQ to Sembawang MRT station? What is the bus number / fare?
Thank you so much.

QUOTE(hitsugaya2010 @ Jun 17 2013, 04:05 PM) I do not think have... haha.. anyhow you can refer to this page... Thanks a lot, this is a good website.http://singaporebuspage.wordpress.com/bus-...jb-johor-bahru/ Looking at it:- Advance Coach AC7 Yishun Interchange to Kotaraya II Terminal via Yishun Avenue 7, Sembawang Road, Sembawang Way (NS11 Sembawang MRT), Woodlands Avenue 9 & Woodlands Checkpoint. Transtar Express TS1 Changi Airport to Kotaraya II Terminal limited-stop via TPE, Sengkang/Punggol (SE1 Compassvale LRT), Jalan Kayu, Sembawang Road, Woodlands Avenue 5 (NS9 Woodlands MRT), Woodlands Avenue 3 (NS8 Marsiling MRT) & Woodlands Checkpoint. Both of this mention Sembawang, perhaps they did stop at Sembawang MRT. |

QUOTE(outpace @ Jul 22 2013, 05:39 PM) Hi jitshiong, saw your reply to another member in previous thread as shown below: No worries, just when your appointment, give them the white card which you coming in (the X No. not necessary same as the time you apply). They will chop on your appointment letter, and then staple ur white card with it. Show to the custom and they will scan but return you the white card. The next day just come in as usual, with the appointment letter (chop) and the white card (remaining), until you collect ur pass, MOM will collect ur white card and issue you the pass.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Now I have the same noob question Would like to know if I could enter Singapore with white card X and give them the X No., leave SG immediately; or I would need to stay in SG with the white card X until they finish processing my application? Preferably the former as I need to work in weekdays, possible? Thank you. |

QUOTE(outpace @ Jul 22 2013, 10:46 PM) Hi Vincent, you mean giving my white card to who ? during my appointment with who? fingerprint verification appointment with ESPC? my question is can I leave SG before they print out the notification letter, or do I stay until they print out the notification letter and email to me, so that I can leave SG with the notification letter.the problem is, according to them, they need a white card details from me in order to book me an appointment with ESPC. So after entering into SG, after giving the white card no. to my future employer, do I stay in SG until some documents is given to me or can I leave SG with just my IPA letter? cause from what I read from MOM website, my future employer would need to print out a notification letter after they have done all the steps required, this is before booking the fingerprint verification appointment. my question is can I leave SG before they print out the notification letter, or do I stay until they print out the notification letter and email to me, so that I can leave SG with the notification letter. http://www.mom.gov.sg/foreign-manpower/pas...es/default.aspx You can. I get my EP this month only, I travel daily in and out to work. Does this calm you? Ok, white card got 2 portion, lets say 1A and 1B Example: 22/7 you go in Singapore with 1A+1B, they take away your 1A, return you 1B 22/7 you give your company to photocopy 1B, then they use your 1B detail to register for appointment letter (In this case, I am assuming you got your IPA way earlier) 22/7 you get reply that your appointment with ESPC will be on 26/7, for fingerprint verification etc etc. 22/7 PM, you back to Malaysia, 1B was taken away by immegresen (else how you leave SG?) 23/7 you go in SG to work with 2A+2B, back Malaysia and give them your 2B 24/7 3A+3B, 3B return when u back 25/7 4A+4B.... 26/7 5A+5B, you bring your 5B white card portion to ESPC, just let them know that because you are travelling in and out daily, so your white card detail is changing daily. After all the verification bla bla bla, they will tell you to collect your EP on... say 31/7, then they will chop on your e appointment letter, stated in progress, then staple your 5B white card on the letter too 26/7 PM you get out SG by showing immegresen your letter and the white card 5B, this time they will NOT collect your 5B 29/7 you go in SG with letter and white card 5B, you back MY with letter and white card 5B 30/7 same as 29/7 31/7 Go to ESPC and collect your EP, you need to give them the letter and card 5B 31/7 PM you get out with your EP and say bye bye to white card for next 1-2 years. Hope above explain well. You are lucky that I am in good mood to type so lengthy, haha! |

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Jul 24 2013, 10:41 PM) wrong info. They will collect your 5B card and issue you the notification letter only with a stamp on it stating which date you will collect your EP. At least this was done on me this July 2013. That piece of paper will serve as your EP and u just need to attach it to your passport and you can enter and leave as many times as you like. |

QUOTE(Quasi-Suave @ Sep 11 2013, 04:39 PM) So its MYR3.7 vs MYR7.25 (converted at 2.5x). That's almost 2x (approx. 95% upside) on your current salary after conversion. I think it's acceptable esp. if your role has the potential to grow in the future. Agree with you, especially your recruiter part.In a related news, a bank recently offered someone SGD4.3k for a role. That same person currently earns MYR8k++ here. Talk about low-balling. Similarly, some idiot recruiter told me that my "realistic" salary in SGD is XXX which is equal to 15% upside of my MYR pay ....after conversion to SGD. So if I earned MYR10k, he was thinking that SGD4.6k (MYR10k/2.5 + 15%) is a fair price for my labour. I promptly told him off. After the above 2 real-life scenarios, I'm seriously wondering about the ethical and mental (short) comings of our southern recruiters. I guess they are looking to recruit monkeys with their peanut level pay. I will say that it shall be your current MYR x 0.8 - 0.9 = SGD you shall get. if 0.9, most likely no need hesitate, just go if else are ok, if 0.8, got to think twice, if 0.7 think 3x, if less than that, forget it. Note: Only my own opinion. No offense. Peace! |

QUOTE(vincentwmh @ Sep 24 2013, 08:53 PM) Is it correct for renewal also need to advertise the slot? No take up by local then only deem fulfill criteria for renewal? Any input on this? http://www.mom.gov.sg/newsroom/Pages/Press...aspx?listid=5232 This will include EP holders who change employers. This does not apply to EP renewal cases, unless the employer is subject to additional requirements indicated in paragraph 9. |
