Hi all, I have a question here..
So I was hunting for a job in singapore and applied some jobs thru Jobstreet.. some of the applications are under direct company application while some are under recruitment company.
So there was a person from recruitment company called me up for an interview and this noon I had my interview session with him.. The interview went smoothly and he introduced the job position (company background, benefits, allowance + OT etc) that I have applied for.
Then at the end of the interview, the interviewer said he will send my CV to the company and it's up to the company whether they'd like to interview me again or not..
So with the help of recruitment agency, do you think the chance of me being called up will be high?
I have been sending applications since 2 weeks+ ago and today was the first interview

I would say dont put too much hope on the recruitment company. for 1 position they ask everyone apply for the related job go to interview at recruitment company. Those suitable only goes to the company.
If you receive this kinda of request and you still in Malaysia, ask them if they can do phone interview. Chances are yes. Try this out.
My partner been to few recruitment company and so many of them call for same job offer. It duplicated and the requirement is all different but when ask the company and position, all give same answer. Worst some even say OT paid some no, some say mon-fri, some say mon-sat, some say give allowance for transport, even car, some say give nothing. They cant even get it right.
She even blacklisted some recruitment company that give fake information like super high salary range but when interview missing 1-2K or some allowance not included, saturday work without OT when it is mon-fri day work.

Don't think its withholding, because my friend never got the money back. She was conned into it, and since she already signed contract and agreement, resigning within one year will result in penalty. That was a painful year.Though it happen quite some time ago, so maybe these sort of things don't happen anymore, but nevertheless, gotta be on my guard right.
Care to share how is it illegal, was thinking of renting one, especially Studio.
I think it is not tax, some recruitment company charge for "agent fee" on monthly basis, this is usually happen to low income job. Ask for any hidden fee before you sign. I am sure you need to read the whole agreement of course. If you not convince bring back the job offer and read up and down with your friend.
My was on contract with recruitment company and they charge one time S$50 when u get the job. The rest are standard.
Warning on contract with recruitment company, very complicated mc, leave application. MC claim is like ah long chassing money from debtor.
They need you to pos the MC and if missing you dont get the MC, photocopy no accepted. I learn how to be accountant when i was on contract. Need to check all the claim every month. Hope others are more lucky than me.

Lock 1 room also legally not allowed. They lock one room was because just in case HDB people come and check, they will open it up and says they still stay there. Legal HDB means the landlord will need to apply through HDB to rent out the entire unit. Most landlords don't want to do it cause rental is taxable
If renting illegal and HDB found out, HDB have the rights to ask the tenant to vacant the premises immediately. That's what I heard but not sure how true
Claiming lock 1 room is not allow, I am not sure how you declare the owner staying o not. There a room for owner and he can come and stay in the room. I still have not seen any HDB office for the past 5 year renting here. Just close your door when you home and never open to anyone. HDB office wont come in.
