Have you guys ever tried the Msian street food at Resort World Sentosa?

It's really authentic Msian style. The food is delicious yet affordable! Ironically, it was my Japanese clients who introduced me to the place. How embarrassing.

Alternatively...try this similar msian food court out at Jurong Point(Boon Lay). Very similar the BKT, hokkien noodle like malaysian style

Hi all,
This is my 1st post. Hope to get some suggestion I am Penang people (26 years old) who working for automation industry for 5 years already. Recently thinking to change job.

I get a offer from Singapore (SGD 3600) and a offer from Penang (RM 4000).

-Singapore-
Salary: SGD 3600 (No epf)
Rental : SGD 700
Transport and other expenses : SGD 1000
Left SGD 2000.

-Malaysia-
Salary : RM 4000(epf 13%), Total RM4520
Rental : RM 210
Transport and other expenses : RM 1000
Left RM 3310.

After compared, Savins in SG minus savings in Malaysia. The differences is around RM 1500. I love staying in Malaysia. BUt the extra income that can earn from SG is kinda attractive too.
Both is waiting for me to sign my offer letter. I have a very hard to struggle where to choose.
Hope I can get some opinion/suggestion here...

One point is, I will definately come back if I'm working in SG.
*
SGD1k for transport and other expenses are more than enough....SGD5 per meal x 3 per day x 30 == 450, public transport == 150
Mind you SGD5 per meal is quite a decent meal liao....sometimes can include a drink somemore

I am very happy to receive the HDB approval letter for my purchase of a resale unit. Finally I can have my own place! the expected handover date is in mid September smile.gif

Read these guidelines?

http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10323p.nsf/w/...nMktRentOutRoom

Quote

Eligibility Conditions: Flat Owners

1. You are allowed to sublet your bedrooms if you own a 3-room or bigger flat.
No prior approval from HDB is required for subletting of the bedrooms. However, flat owners who sublet bedrooms in their HDB flats will have to register with HDB within 7 days of doing so. They are also required to notify HDB when they renew or terminate the subletting of bedrooms, and when there are changes to their subtenants' particulars.
Flat owners must comply with HDB’s subletting rules and regulations.

2. Owners of 1 and 2-room flats are not allowed to sublet their bedrooms.

Did you read the title?
It clearly states subletting of ROOMS.
If it is a 1 bedroom unit (1 and 2 room flats in SG basically means 1 bedroom)...what room will you be subletting with you still staying inside?
For this case, it is under subletting the whole flat.
Read properly...there is a link for whole flat sublet on the left.

Oh yes sorry...saw wrongly, my faulty...but from what I know these 1 or 2 bedroom HDB are for the elderly people, and the surrounding environment isn't that good/conducive.

Hi guys ayam a fresh grad and looking for jobs in Sg. However many of the requirements are PR. Then the only way to get PR ( as for me ) is to get a job permit. How to do ah?
*
Job permit in SG is like Employment Pass/S Pass and so on. Job permits only allows you to work with that company and job position mentioned in the pass
PR is a separate issue. You don't just simply get a PR with a job permit.

How to apply for PR leh? As I know Sg gomen has tighten the rule for giving out PR. For me at Malaysia to apply for Sg job that require PR, the chances are very small?
*
Yes...some will even outright reject your job application.
Also job permits also got quota per company.

You will need to be working in SG for a few years(on job pass/permit) before you can start to apply for PR. Even then its up to SG ICA(Immigration & Customs Authority) to approve or reject your PR application.
As a PR..you can move between jobs easily. On job pass/permit when you move jobs, need to re-apply with MOM(Ministry Of Manpower) again.

Hi, my SG PR going to expiry at next year February. Based on ICA website we should renew 3 month earlier before the PR expiry.

I quite worry to renew the PR at end of the year. Worry quota finish then will kena reject. Can i renew at January?
*
Mine i renew online pay using CC on the spot approved the REP ler....sooner or later you will also need to renew....Makes no diff if u renew it sooner or later...if SG gov wants to kick u or keep u...doesn't matter when you renew your REP.....

thanks for reply bro..

let say when the work permit everything is approved, and when i want to resign my current company need 2 months of notice period, will it affect the work permit or IPA (need to be extended etc) in a way?
*
then u can talk to the new hiring company saying that you will have to start work at a later date due to your 60 days notice period...the work permit specifies the period you can work for. So i don't see a problem where you start work at a later date stated on the work permit.....

I got help my friend renew the REP before. Quite straight forward.

My concern is the PR do have quota or not? If year end renew the risk will high or not?

Btw last year i had received a letter from ICA is a survey ask me interested to become singaporean or not. I don't reply the mail.

That why i very worry.  ohmy.gif
*
well...its actually not the PR quota...it should be more of the REP.....PR is for life....just to let you know i renew my REP around back in november last year...
even if u failed to renew your REP this time round...doesn't mean you can't try again later on OR it doesn't mean you will lose your PR...you will lose your PR if you travel abroad and then return to SG without a valid/expire REP...
So if all else fails..just stay on in SG till your REP is renewed/successful?

Assume 450k 4-room flat, 20% d/p = 90k, almost 8% ABSD = 36k, COV = 20k, misc = 4k ... tadaaaa 150k.
Well ... I'd say it's a difficult time to come over as a junior hire, and you might well find yourself with a huge downgrade in living standards and wondering what the heck all the fuss is about.
*
20% d/p out of which 15% can be taken from CPF. In my case ABSD was paid by the bank. I didn't have to come out cash for the ABSD. COV mine was 35k..but 80% move in condition....just repainting n some minor repairs.
3-room at B Batok...SGD345k....cash needed was less than 90k.....
