please advise,
my bf going to graduate from a local uni. he did Bachelor of IT (hons) business information system. would u advise him to get experience first in malaysia rather than coming to sg to hunt for a job as a freshgrad? his friends can get $3k to $4k(with OT) working as support in a bank. well most of them end up working in IT department in a bank. it seems like the pay is not bad. i fear when he comes here he will be getting low pay job like $1800 basic and dunno whether he can have any career advancement in sg companies. if he can have a better job prospect in malaysia, then i dun wan him to come to sg for a low pay job because he wants to be with me here... |

QUOTE(yhoong12 @ Jul 8 2013, 08:34 AM) i think is best for your bf to apply for both side, then see which one he get first. then only decide. no one can guarantee that he will get a job in SG in a short period. i can see that the main concern is money. who say malaysia got career advancement but sg dont have? career advancement is based on how badly you want to climb higher, if you want to climb, anyhow you also can find a way for career advancement. apply both side then you can compare the career and salary. i think so.. well also depends on how good the person is la. i have be confident with him |

QUOTE(Feizai2013 @ Jul 8 2013, 08:59 AM) Ya agree. Apply both side. First come first serve. 7 years??? I also from IT line. 1st year came to Singapore. They don't recognize my Malaysia working experience and only getting $1100 per month. Slowly slowly climb after 7 years manage to get 4k+ per month. seems like malaysia value programmers better.... |

QUOTE(yhoong12 @ Jul 8 2013, 03:06 PM) I guess he already make up his decision to come to sg to work so that can stay close to you. he should know what is his bottom line for salary, mean he know what he deserve for. that just try to apply at malaysia and singapore, no one can guarantee which interview come first. if you follow this thread then you know job hunting is depend one, some get within few week, few month, some even still searching... i understand.. i've been through that low period of time too..but once you've gotten a job, things will be ok |
