i think is best for your bf to apply for both side, then see which one he get first. then only decide. no one can guarantee that he will get a job in SG in a short period. i can see that the main concern is money. who say malaysia got career advancement but sg dont have? career advancement is based on how badly you want to climb higher, if you want to climb, anyhow you also can find a way for career advancement. apply both side then you can compare the career and salary. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Ya agree. Apply both side. First come first serve.

I also from IT line. 1st year came to Singapore.

They don't recognize my Malaysia working experience and only getting $1100 per month.

Slowly slowly climb after 7 years manage to get 4k+ per month.

Yalol bad luck and i not working as programmer. blush.gif

Sg IT pay not that high maybe because too many competitor (China,India,Philippine,Vietnam,Myanmar and etc) .

Compare with KL i prefer SG because can save more money (depend your lifestyle).

Due to the strong Singapore currency every year still can go to travel. biggrin.gif

IT people in my bank about 3k plus for fresh grad I think. 1.8k is long long time ago... Career advancement then depend on his competency already.
*
I believe the fresh grad is refer to local uni graduate student.

Without PR as a foreign worker unlikely to grab the job or you must be very very lucky person.

Just curious, what is your qualifications (dip? degree?) and what job role are you working as? To be honest $1.1k is a very low starting pay ... one of our member tayhaithian got offer as $7k as fresh grad a year ago and now already $8k++++.
*
Ya that time i just holding diploma certificate. Work as IT Engineer...

Bad luck... i also hope i can get $7k every month. blush.gif

Well, tayhaithian got 7k offer as fresh grad, so to some people it is apparently very easy. I believe toughnut seantang and Fiona Chin are other high earners pulling in above 10k (or close to that) so you could ask them for their experiences too.
*
close to 10k drool.gif very high pay lol. can buy condo already. brows.gif

Mine i renew online pay using CC on the spot approved the REP ler....sooner or later you will also need to renew....Makes no diff if u renew it sooner or later...if SG gov wants to kick u or keep u...doesn't matter when you renew your REP.....
*
I got help my friend renew the REP before. Quite straight forward.

My concern is the PR do have quota or not? If year end renew the risk will high or not?

Btw last year i had received a letter from ICA is a survey ask me interested to become singaporean or not. I don't reply the mail.

That why i very worry. ohmy.gif

well...its actually not the PR quota...it should be more of the REP.....PR is for life....just to let you know i renew my REP around back in november last year...
even if u failed to renew your REP this time round...doesn't mean you can't try again later on OR it doesn't mean you will lose your PR...you will lose your PR if you travel abroad and then return to SG without a valid/expire REP...
So if all else fails..just stay on in SG till your REP is renewed/successful?
*
So you renew before 3 months expiry date? Recently i also receive cpf survey letter from CPF.

My house had few PR roommate. All of them don't receive but i the only one kena. Make me worry more.

Hope i think too much. sad.gif
