QUOTE(lzhaojie @ Oct 17 2013, 01:47 AM) Do headhunters/employers like to see SG address and phone number before they continue reading the resume? it's better than seeing a foreign address and contact. That's for sure

QUOTE(mightycooler @ Oct 18 2013, 11:28 AM) Hi all beloved forumers, I will be working in Singapore on 1st November. Planning to stay in Gelang Patah and travel to work. Sadly, the working place is so far away nearby Eunos. Hope can negotiate for transport allowance. not much grounds for you to negotiate. In fact I known quite a few cases that those who stay in jb will get 2nd priority for promotion and career move compares with those stay locally.

QUOTE(JohnJon82 @ Oct 18 2013, 02:23 PM) Never know promotion now can be based on where you stay. one good example is your work response time. If your boss beep you on Sunday noon for an emergency meeting, would you be able to reach the office in an hour time, compares to your colleague?

QUOTE(breakingpoint @ Oct 18 2013, 07:06 PM) ok..sort of a noob question.I have an old modded Xbox 360 sitting at home collecting dust..just wondering is it safe to bring it over to Sg?Will they check?:| modded = illegal modification ? I guess they won't check but it's illegal to bring in a modded set. This post has been edited by 7 For All Mankind: Oct 19 2013, 09:31 AM

QUOTE(Janice.Forever @ Oct 20 2013, 02:34 PM) Hi all, i would like to ask for advice to work in Singapore banking industry. I have been working in Malaysia for 7 years. I have been applying through monster, jobstreet, jobsdb and etc. I do not get any response. Appreciate that you could advise me how to get a job in Singapore. Thank you. what kind of work did you do during the 7 years ? Any substantial achievement during that period that makes you stand out against the rest ? if yes, then you should have been head hunt by now. if no, then you have to wait in line after Singaporean/PR rejected the job. Then only you can have a go at it with rest of the ft (foreign talent).

QUOTE(be_happy @ Oct 21 2013, 09:52 AM) Today I went to an interview at Science Park. Woke up early in the morning and reached there at 9.40am. Met the CEO and after he brief me about the work role then he asked me go back and consider. If really want the job, only he schedule the managers to interview me after i drop him email. I was like "WTH" of coz i want the work only I came here. "Faint" (wasting my time) haha. I'll 100% bypass a job where I can meet the CEO easier that meeting my pals. Why would a company need a 'CEO' to brief you about the work role? unless you are applying for a very senior manager role or deputy CEO ?
