$1.7k is pretty low. Gotta be prepared to live a pretty sad life quite frugally, transport, room rental and food alone will easily eat up 70+% of that, leaving you with not much in the way of luxury spending, shopping, entertainment, savings, etc. Up to you lor depends how desperate you are to get a foothold in SG, and whether you believe you are capable enough to rise through the ranks (relatively) quickly.

My employer in singapore has just submit the work permit application to mom , now waiting for status .

normaly how was the approval rate on this work permit yah , i am quite worry about this , due to i fail all my subject during SPM .

my offer salary is bout 4k sgd , if this work permit is approve , which category will i fold in to  ( wp , sp or ep )

Personally, if the intention is to start a family in Singapore, it makes no economic sense to retain your malaysian citizenship, and convert over to Singapore. (except for the cost of the 2 year PR that your kid has to face) - in which case, once you convert, you can then opt for the HDB flat. My personal view is, working in Singapore is better in the long run, if the intention is to build up a big pot of gold, send it back to malaysia (or wherever), and then live a less stressful life supported by that pot that you made here in SG...

(doesn't apply for the top 10% obviously)

is this the standard pay for fresh grad mechanical engineer? for me i think the starting pay for engineers shud be at 3k above.

chemical engineer only get high pay if they got into the correct industry.. haha.. it really depends.. if you got into those big OnG company like singapore... SGD5k per month also not an issue.. lol..

Sigh.. I wanted to get helper also but my wife strongly disagree. She refer those cases where maid abuse baby and some of the extreme ones in other country where maid boil the baby!

guys, need urgent help. I am sg pr. what if I lost my re-entry permit (the piece of cheap photocopy paper), am I able to go to malaysia and enter again? must have that paper?

i made photocopy of my original re-entry permit and original i keep.
