QUOTE(jinkinz @ Jun 12 2013, 05:13 PM) hi anyone know at where got the highest rate for money exchange? sgd to rm of cause... most people say Arcade at Raffles gives best rates in SG. But unless you are changing huge amount, typically for commonly traded currencies it might not be worth the trip there. For me, changing RM I will just do it in Bedok where I live. |

Hi all, I have a question here..
So I was hunting for a job in singapore and applied some jobs thru Jobstreet.. some of the applications are under direct company application while some are under recruitment company. So there was a person from recruitment company called me up for an interview and this noon I had my interview session with him.. The interview went smoothly and he introduced the job position (company background, benefits, allowance + OT etc) that I have applied for. Then at the end of the interview, the interviewer said he will send my CV to the company and it's up to the company whether they'd like to interview me again or not.. So with the help of recruitment agency, do you think the chance of me being called up will be high? I have been sending applications since 2 weeks+ ago and today was the first interview This post has been edited by shiyau: Jun 12 2013, 10:17 PM |

QUOTE(NoiZy @ Jun 12 2013, 12:10 PM) Wanna work in SG, got an offer from Msia company to go down there, but when ask for more details like tax rate etc, they are not providing, ask me to direct ask the supervisor over SG during my first day there. This is dangerous. $3k-8kAlso, if I am to apply for a job in SG, wonder what is my expected salary range. 3 years working exp in Management (Business development) Degree in Marketing. QUOTE(incrediblehippo @ Jun 12 2013, 12:58 PM) hi guys, am new here. $1500 but very inconvenient areaI would like to check if anyone knows can I get a low cost apartment/hdb or any kind of single living whole unit with a budget of $1000-1500? QUOTE(paulderu @ Jun 12 2013, 02:21 PM) hi everyone , what's premiums?basically i am working in a premiums company in singapore curently. Think of a better future prospect, i am thinking of changing a job. Btw, what do you guys think of company selling premiums? QUOTE(NoiZy @ Jun 12 2013, 03:13 PM) Yes, I do understand this. But when probing on tax, what I want to know is just the tax that is enforced unto the employer, I just need to know that the salary offered is really the salary given, don't want SGD 3000 offered, but end of the day, they say SGD700 paid for tax etc. i think u r mixing up with msia and sg... msia's way of income tax is like witholding tax... the company will withold a portion of your salary based on a projected annual income.. at the end of the tax/financial year they would ask you to make up the difference vs ur actual income.. so although ur salary is A, u will get less minus the witheld portionThe reason why I want to clear this is after checking with some friends over there, they say they have seen similar cases and adviced me to be sure that I won't end up in that situation. Proper management will tell that the salary is SGD2300, and not SGD3000. in sg, the coy is only allowed to cut for cpf if eligible.. some coys cut for contract workers as a form of witholding portion just in case the employee break the contract and leave the company to pay for his/her tax which is based on non-residential rate This post has been edited by alaskanbunny: Jun 13 2013, 12:53 AM |

QUOTE(NoiZy @ Jun 12 2013, 03:39 PM) Yes, I know my personal tax won't be that high. most probably is withold so just in case he runs and taxed as a non-resident, the company doesnt have to bear itBecause this is what I've learnt from my friends in SG, one of them was actually in this situation before, and due to contract, can't resign within 2 years. There is a tax/fees that the employer is charged, but they include it into your total salary, so they can say they are offering SGD3000 instead of SGD2300. My friend's case and some of their friends faced these issue. I just want to clarify this with the company that is offering me, and they have been avoiding some of my question leading me to be a little worried. beware guys.. play ur part is fighting dengue...
Dengue cases in Singapore rocketed to 9,544 Second death has been recorded. According to the National Environment Agency (NEA), dengue cases in Singapore hit 9,544 cases to date. In a release, the NEA also noted the dengue situation has worsened with weekly cases hitting a record of 820 and continues to be a major threat to Singapore. As more cases are expected, the NEA is ramping up its vector control manpower to speed up inspections and surveillance. To bring down the population of adult mosquitoes responsible for transmitting the virus, officers will be seeking residents’ cooperation to apply ultra-low volume (ULV) misting and insecticide aerosol sprays. Next month, the Ministry of Health (MOH) and NEA will also distribute mosquito repellents to households, starting with those residing in cluster areas. MOH and NEA urge everyone to remain vigilant and perform the Mozzie Wipeout to prevent mosquitoes from breeding in their homes. There were 820 cases reported in the week ending 8 June – the highest recorded so far. To date, 9,544 cases were reported this year, surpassing the 8,843 cases reported in the 2007 epidemic. The agency has also been notified of the death of a dengue patient who lived at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. This is the second dengue death case this year. The patient was a 60-year-old Singaporean Chinese male. He went to Tan Tock Seng (TTSH) emergency department (ED) on 5 June 2013 with fever, shortness of breath, vomiting and rash on his left leg. While majority of the clusters continue to be reported in the eastern part of the island, there has been a rise in the number of clusters in the west and northern parts. This suggests that dengue transmission is intensifying in these areas. http://sbr.com.sg/healthcare/news/dengue-c...e-rocketed-9544 - See more at: http://sbr.com.sg/healthcare/news/dengue-c...h.Ds7rfbp4.dpuf |

Need advice.
I am working as a mortgage sales in penang. My basic is RM2600 + 300 allowance. Just working for 6months only. I had applied a few jobs in sg thru jobstreets but no replied. Planned to resign and stay SG for a few weeks to apply job but kinda risky. If I get SGD 2000, should I move? My brother is a PR in SG and persuade me to go there. Bank had a career advancement which make me more hard to switch. Plus, if I move to SG I had no idea which industry to go. Kinda confuse... |
