not really one for the movie characters, but the recent saber ones from medicom (not exactly high end either right) are making my heart aflutter!

two questions for the vets here - are they any good (ie quality wise) and would it be cheaper to get them from say amiami plus tax or from the local suppliers? and which local supplier?

sorry that's three questions instead of two. Thanks!

no love for medicoms?
HTs are nice and all, but slim pickings for anime fans, which RAH seems to have a monopoly on sad.gif

Was kinda reluctant to get medicom RAHs due to the negative reviews both here and in the internet, but couldn't stand the saber poison so i got both the normal and alter versions.
alter arrived a few days ago.

relatively new to the action figure scene but am pleasantly surprised with saber alter.

the slashing overkill sword effect part came in translucent plastic and was very well done.

but the shoes/feet is the deal maker for me, very intricate and err spiky wub.gif

saber's (which was decent enough herself) feet look plain in comparison

and she is slightly shorter mad.gif and their windblown hair parts do not match, each has hair blown to the opposite side so that'll look odd when displayed together, like magnetic hair or something!

fabric used was nice and feels weighty for both, and aside from a single hand peg on alter that i had to shave slightly in order to make it fit better/easier, no major QC issues either.

i take it medicom's improved their quality and qc? then again i did also get rah miku (as she was 50% off almost everywhere) and that one was as expected rather plain and forgettable.

Sorry for the blur handphone pic... another Saber smile.gif
More like the normal Saber with a different outfit and slightly different facial expressions.
she's supposed to have a vest and a shirt underneath that suit, but I'm not gonna be taking that off cause it looks as if it'll be a pain to put that suit back on, mebbe next time when i'm a bit more experienced in handling these toys.

Gotta spread some anime love in here!

Bought this from user judge-the, it's still one of my favorite 1/6 figures after spending some time on modding it.

Scary semi nekkid girl from kill la kill.

I like these Magical Girl Madoka releases, their bigger than usual heads are true to the source material laugh.gif
This one's quite basic, came with the bag (which is made out of PVC methinks, and I suspect is, in the long run too heavy to have her hold, a teapot and saucer, the witch, two other face plates and a plethora of hands.
Hopefully with Cammy and Chun Li due out next month there'll be more oversized figma RAH love!

don't kno anything about magica madoka, but the outer shirt doesn't look fabric, is it leather/pleather? if yes i would avoid putting the stand on the waist, it will not just leave marks but also stick up the pleather layer in 2-3 years time.

i have 3 hokuto no ken rah in the cabinet don't know what to do with them, can't even touch them, can't sell them coz can't put back in box, can't even move them.

is fabric.

I think people have a very negative perception of Medicom, their reputation has been pretty poor in the past. And often times, the grouses are repeated over and over again in the forums.

Well, that put me off buying any of their releases (and 1/6 in general cause the hottoys aren't my cup of tea) but having made the plunge, I do not have any complaints about mine.

Give them a chance, and you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised.

Btw, where to get Saber at RM350ish? She was my first RAH and am tempted to get another at that price to tinker around with.
