I have got an old notebook. It is Centrino first generation, 1.6GHz, 512MB RAM and built in graphics systems.
Can this old notebook turn into Chrome OS Chromebook?

Thank you

you cannot install chrome OS with that

heck, you cannot install chrome OS at any laptop at all despite the hardware

you can only install chromium OS, which is the open source version of chrome os.

and bare in mind, chromium os require lots of ram to fully utilize the user experience and the apps. with 512mb, i think better u stick with windows xp, or xubuntu instead

I think you can install it yourself easily, just like Linux's Ubuntu (Chrome OS is Linux).

If you never use Linux before, you should try Ubuntu.
Ubuntu is most popular Linux distribution. It is easy to install and use.

Chrome Os and Chromium is different. Chrome OS is hardware dependant and u can't just install on any notebook unless its chrome certified. I tried it where u create a USB flash installer to install chrome. It just stops somewhere. Chromium will have a better chance to install.
