Celcom new Home Fibre packages for Sabah
https://www.celcom.com.my/personal/broadban...lcom-home-fibre

Home Fibre Gold 40 Mbps is RM 80

Home Fibre Gold Supreme 100 Mbps is RM 120

~ unlimited quota
~ 10 sen/min call to all new networks (no free calls)

From FAQ: same download & upload speed
https://www.celcom.com.my/support/faq/perso...lcom-home-fibre

I think the coverage is limited though.
*
Wow, good to know they already reduce the price. I already signed up their Home Fibre Gold. Yeah the coverage is quiet limited. Lets hope they keep expanding their infra in the future. smile.gif

Celcom has made new move! Plan available nationwide!

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.lowyat.net...oes-nationwide/

However, it seems that many is unbothered. Celcom still seems like unpopular choice.

30M up and download speed for RM80 is cheaper than even maxis's RM89.

I guess similar to Maxis, the fiber technology is similar to TM's unifi and maxis's fiber, riding TM's backbone, woth their own designated VLAN ID for internet and VOIP.

The TP-Link Archer VR500V modem looks cheap and ugly and there's no unlimited call plan in the bundle. This is very important for the senior citizens who wants a fixed line at home for their love ones to contact.

perhaps u mean top up for RM10 to get unlimited call? by default of RM89, maxis dont bundle free call as well. u can always use your own router.

So it still depends on area that have unifi?
Then no difference.

Why TNB fiber network still not being rolled out throughout Malaysia. With it everyone that have electricity can have fiber.

It's quite a convenience if you want to have a fixed line. For a mere additional RM10, you get to have unlimited calls to fixed line and local mobile numbers.

Even TM can't beat that, their more expensive higher range plans such as 100M and 300M only bundle 600 minutes of talktime with their plans.

I guess they don't want an overlap of coverage with areas already served by TM's HSBB unless there's very high demand or new green field development that requires new infra buildout.

Once TNB wholesale open network builds up and get more popular than TM's HSBB itself, TNB might probably buy up TM's assets which is failing instead. That way they could expand much faster than to build an entire new network that overlaps the existing coverage.

TNB's financial book is actually healthier than TM's.Electricity is much more of an essential than broadband and their open network wholesale model is actually more promising to other players.

Funny thing about TM.
Whole taman requested for Unifi almost 2 years ago even had petition with over 50 tenants, lots of excuses didn’t do anything. 6 months ago celcom came and installed their fibre equipment in the area, 6 days from signup to running wifi at home. Now suddenly TM is here and busy installing their equipment too.

They like to compete instead of pursuing new areas where there's less competition. Stupid mentality if you ask me.

Celcom leases TNB's wholesale fibre network mostly as their priority. They have greater freedom on it because they get to hook unused dark fibre directly to their own equipment just like SACOFA in Sabah.

As for TM's HSBB network, they still need to use TM's routers as first hop before re-routing to their own network. On TNB's open network, the ISP leasing it can supply their own BTU/modem in addition to the router. That is how open networks should be.

Why not just keep vr500v and turn off the wifi and use Ubiquiti Unifi AP.
Do you know how to setup if have new router? I can't find any tutorial about how to setup the Celcom Fibre, unlike TM Unifi full of tutorial on the web.

Prefer to get a modem router combo to avoid extra wires. Did consider ubiquiti but will have to run wires to a centralised mounting point in the house which wife is against. Router settings should be no problem i hope.

Yes it's quite widely deployed in Cyberjaya already and it'll expand in time.

SACOFA/Celcom Timur is doing the same thing in Sabah, not sure about Sarawak.

In Peninsular Malaysia, TNB will be doing the same role as them.

Out of sudden by Celcom Home Fibre gold 30Mbps become 2Mbps downlink and 30Mbps uplink. Restart TM modem and Celcom router few times, result still same. Support ticket opened to check what is happening actually. Anyone facing the same symptom? Area Batu Caves

I thought only Celcom have this problem. Now also down to 2 - 3 Mbps on 30Mbps plan. Location Miri, Sarawak.
