Ahh my apologies I may look like a HR person here promoting SWIFT earlier lol. I am working in swift now.. Since they first open in March last year.

Firstly allow me to clarify that swift is indeed desperate. Desperate for good candidates. You won't believe how many ppl has failed the interviews here hence why swift keeps advertising. Turn over rate? Only 2 person has resigned so far. One is a freshie who got a better offer outside and one lady who follows her husband to singapore. We expanded from 30 ppl to close to 100 now.. Swift KL is expanding really fast.. That is why you see a lot of vacancies.. But there hasn't been the same position being advertised repeatedly.. They are all new positions smile.gif

Ok don't wanna sound too butthurt ppl saying negative stuff abt my company tongue.gif

I am in IT department and my team is awesome. I can't say abt other teams since there are a lot of other IT teams.. Development team for diff products. There are also the finance team, support, sales, KYC etc.

Workload? Evenly balanced.. We use agile scrum methodology.. Sprints for every two weeks so we plan the workload for every two weeks based on your availability and the task priorities. We have short meetup in the mornings to catch up with the team.. If there are any blocking issues etc.

Stressful? Not really.. You do your job well, you deliver, you communicate to the team in KL & overseas stakeholders.. Again, these are all my take on my team ya.. Maybe other teams has diff workload levels..

Flexible? How flexible? During probation we come to work 9 to 530 pm. Yes, swift working hrs is 7.5 per day instead of your normal 8hr per day.. After probation you can choose your own schedule.. As long as per week you work enough hours.. Like for some we work extra an hour per day, and on Fridays we work half day.. Whatever is it, all must be agreed by your manager.

Working from home is 2 days per week.. But you must be in office at least 3 days per week. So if got cuti in that week, you probably can't work frm home cos not enough 3 days being present in office.

Traveling? Some of us get to go to Belgium, US, HK.. Based on what ur jobscope, who ur stakeholders are.. How frequent? Not so lah.. Once or twice a year maybe.. Maybe never..

The office environment here is syiok jugak lah.. Open seating.. Pantry stocked with snacks, milo, kopi, bread, nutella peanut butter yadayada.. Fridge full with soft drinks, juice, milk, cheese, fruits.. Ok must stop here tongue.gif
Got Xbox, board games, activities organized by committees etc.

Here we are mixed ppl from multi countries, multi faith, multi race. The management puts effort in keeping us as a team.. Not an easy task with the rate of the company growing.. Lots of newcomers every month.. Even I also tak kenal all of them. Very different from when we first joined the company. Everyone knows everybody smile.gif

Penat jari type using phone. Hope this helps! Don't judge us yet before you come here to our office, meet us, go through the interview etc. Maybe you'll like us, maybe we won't be your cup of tea who knows. Hope anyone who has been to the interviews can share your experience here too! Would be great to hear what you feel about us.

Are you working there? Can share on the flexi working hour how it works?
Does the job requires travelling?
What about working pressure, does it need to work O.T. and always available/on call considering it's bank related.

Are you working there?
doopooi
Replacement??? Were you working there previously? Many people left???

I think I answered some of ur qs above.. As for OT.. I'm not sure.. I don't think we have OT.. Not many people stay back for long hours here except i think the finance peeps. Some stays back if they have conf calls with the overseas stakeholders etc.. But u can always join from home anyways..

Always on call.. Don't think so.. We do have outsourced support team who works on shifts. It really depends on which team you join.. Maybe some teams do have it but I'm really not sure. It's a no no for my team, that one I can confirm hehe

Sorry Paul just read ur post! Nothing to add on.. already shared whats there to be shared hehe.

Benefits here are so-so only.. I've heard of worse benefits.. also had worked in another company whose benefit is 90% better than SWIFT's..

Annual leave 18 not including gazetted leave.. gazetted leave are added to your AL.. meaning PH that falls on weekends. So each year at least 20 days cuti la I would say.. the AL will be increased after working for a few years with swift.

Got maternity coverage, dental, vision, inpatient, outpatient - the normal ones.. if you need to know the specific amount can PM me..

SWIFT gives us a sort of a gift after our first year anniversary working here. They allocate RM2000 per year to claim for certain things like parents' medical, alternative medicine, your phone bill, internet bill, gym or other club membership etc. etc.

My favorite benefit is of course working from home and the flexi hours smile.gif ohhhh and the free food stock in the pantry haha

Cannot disclose about bonus.. but the bonus enough to make me happy la but note that I never worked in any company which gives out bonuses haha of course la happy kan.. increment was good enough for me too..

As for promotion, this is not easyly given here at SWIFT. Looking at how long and how GOOD the overseas (and some local) staff took to get promoted, I wouldn't be surprised if I ever get promoted lol. But as long as I get the bonus and increment according to my performance, I'm a happy kid already.

anyone is from the IT department?
just got an offer from Swift working under IT dept as DBA.
Can tell me how's the ppl in IT dept?
Do they really track your time in and time out during probation?
Basically this is just my experience on the interview process which just happened few weeks back.

1st interview
i) interview with senior HR
ii) Sit for an exam

2nd interview (if the 1st interview is successful)
i) interview with Hiring Manager
ii) interview with the HQ(Belgium)

If you get an offer, then you know you have pass the 2nd interview and welcome to Swift. smile.gif
*
No we don't track such thing unless you come to work at 11 and go back at 3 everyday people will start noticing lol. It is flexi hours here after probation I.e. Come early go back early, or as long as per week work enough hours. During probation 9-5.30PM.

Campus 2.1 office design (free seating, food at pantry, xbox, ps4), prayer room, nursing room (yes mommiesss we have dedicated nursing rooms for us!!), flexible working hours, bearable workload (there's the kaw kaw crazy peak moments but then there's the slow and quiet days too for my team), nice pantry and well stocked, multiple channel to give suggestions/feedback to management team or the committees who makes the office a better place for all of us. People are generally friendly and helpful smile.gif

It's ok we've had people who managed to join SWIFT after several applications too! Probably there'll be a more suitable position for you in future? Or you can level up your skills now and re-apply again? Good luck!!

Curious to know what's the size of the company now. Received a call to attend for interview for Global Learning & Development. Most people who shared their experiences here went for interview for IT related position. Anyone like me? not for IT related position?  icon_rolleyes.gif

Most of the team managers only know how to talk, do something to show the "visibility" to the big boss, but actually useless yet getting high pay. I am not commenting SWIFT particularly, but most of the MNC companies.

Sadly this is true.. sucks to be in a team with this kinda managers but sucks more to be someone who has this type of manager yet still stays with the same team/company and continue on complaining.

How is SWIFT today? So many vacancies on JS
*
Can't say hows swift is today on behalf of all swifters since its obvious there are really unhappy ppl here and some somewhat happy ppl too lol. SWIFT is currently going through the Agile transformation, moving into tribes, squads, re-assigning product ownership etc. So new roles are being created, agile coaches, chapter leads, product managers etc in KL. Changes like these of course will receive mixed reactions from the employees. Ensure you have the right mindset before joining swift, and ready to adapt to changes smile.gif

I can see lots of ppl here are very excited to join the company, But, i have to let u guys know the fact that the company make a good offer and benefits, does not mean the team manager or HR are good. If you guys manage to join a good team, less issue, it will be the best, congrats.... But i would say don't get over excited, even you have got the offer, and you think good life is coming soon. I was excited as u guys before too. Good luck to all.

I agree

True.. this is why I always ask the hiring manager the turnover rate of the team during interviews. I'll ask if the team is happy, has good relationship which other, supportive and helpful or not etc. Usually managers with great team has no problem answering this as this is kind of an achievement for the manager, to be able to keep the team happy. I've had interviews with managers saying things like 'it is normal ppl leave the team' or 'impossible to keep everyone happy' which I know are true but you can sense in the way they say it, whether they are annoyed/pessimistic by it or if they are saying it because they are happy that ppl are growing and pursuing/progressing their own career path.
