hi guys, wanted to ask.
I never see any Maybank booth nor any agent for Maybank CC.
How may I get to apply Maybankard 2?
Walk in to Maybank branch directly?
I am in penang. Dont think penang has any maybank card centre.
Thanks.

Hi all,

according to the info provided by Genx in his blog,
http://generationsxyz.blogspot.com/2012/02...an-express.html

last time he mentioned that the
Amex card weekend 5% rebate + 5xTP (equivalent to 2.5% cash rebate value ) = total we get 7.5% rebate in weekend / just 2.5% in weekdays.
while Visa/MC giv 1xTP = 0.5% rebate.

with the latest revised TP redemption, has anyone knows / calculated how much rebate we actually get in total?

I am thinking to apply for this maybankard 2. But not sure if it's still a nice cash rebate card to have or not? Please advice.

the TP become 3 years expiry..how about the amex MR points?
*
I read through but still dont understand.
what's the difference of TP & MR?
Thought for Maybank2card, AMEX & Visa/MC are both under 1 stament, which means their poitns are combined? All considered TP?
pls enlighten me.

Both.
Certain recurring transactions will not trigger the SMS.
SMS will also not be sent if the amount is less then the trigger amount.
*
how to check current trigger amount & change it?
Wana set something like RM1 so that every transaction will get SMS.

A colleague of mine kena fraud transactions (KARMALOOP & another Japanese merchant) via Maybankard 2 AMEX sad.gif
*
activating the transaction sms & set trigger amount to min will help to identify immediately when CC is misused by others right?
but with this we only able to call Maybank to block it, but still need to pay the statement balance for that month, then wait for investigation to refund.
(which might take up few months)

any how we can try our best to avoid this?

btw, does other CC also has this issue or just maybank AMEX card very easily kena fraud case?

Pls advise.. because I just applied Maybank2card...
thinking how to avoid this scenario..

Hi all, I read the 1st post & saw this example but dont really understand.
The AMEX 5% cash rebate is according to the transaction data on weekend / posting date?
Because the example providing is abit confusing.
Pls advise.

QUOTE
The last weekend for October 2011 is 29th and 30th October.
Only those transactions done on 29th/30th must be posted on or before 31 October 2011 to be part of the October's RM50 rebate calculation.

Eg.
Transaction Date : 29 October 2011 [Sat]
Posting Date : 29 October 2011       [Sat]
Included in the October 2011 Weekend Rebate calculation

Transaction Date : 29 October 2011 [Sat]
Posting Date : 30 October 2011       [Sun]
Included in the October 2011 Weekend Rebate calculation

Transaction Date : 29 October 2011 [Sat]
Posting Date : 31 October 2011       [Mon] << posting date is already Monday although transaction date is weekend. This still will get weekend 5% rebate + 5x TP?
Included in the October 2011 Weekend Rebate calculation

Transaction Date : 29 October 2011 [Sat]
Posting Date : 1 November 2011      [Tues] << posting date is already Tuesday although transaction date is weekend. This still will get 5% rebate + 5x TP?
Included in the November 2011 Weekend Rebate calculation

Transaction Date : 29 October 2011  [Sat]
Posting Date : 2 November 2011      [Wed] << posting date is already Wednesdayalthough transaction date is weekend. This still will get 5% rebate + 5x TP?
Included in the November 2011 Weekend Rebate calculation

It is basically for transactions done when the end of a month is a weekend. You will still get the rebate, but the posting date will determine whether the rebate is given for the current month or next month.
*
means no matter when is the posting date. As long as I swipe the card & do the transaction on weekend, I will be entitled for weekend 5% rebate + 5x TP?

but 1st post FAQ says
QUOTE
3. The 5% cash back on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) for MBB 2 AMEX includes Petrol and is additional to the 5X Treats Points. However it is reported that some online transactions on weekends DO NOT earn the 5% cash back as it depends on the timing the merchant processes the transaction << this means transaction date / posting date? .

using Amex CC to pay TM streamyx bill on weekend, does the transaction directly goes through on that day? Or will need a few days for TM to receive it?

Example like previously got forummer mentioned using Amex to pay Maxis bill, but the money cleared to Maxis after few days, causing the dateline to due.

need about 2/3 workings day for it to be transacted from my experience.

which means if I pay the streamyx bill on weekend (sat).
Transaction date will be the weekend date(sat) I pay the bill online; while posting date will be monday / tuesday right?

Yes, will remain in your Visa/MC

thought VISA/MC & Amex is in 1 statement.
the redemption RM50 will remain as -50 balance for VISA/MC until we further use the card/till next GST charges coming in?
thought the whole statement can combine & use it to offset the balance statement for Amex?

One thing about using M2U to view your CC statement - once you agree to view it online, they will no longer send you the hardcopy statement? Why MBB like that wan? sad.gif
I still havent receive my hardcopy statement this month (probably due to Raya), my due date is 1st Sept

*sorry if this has been discussed before
*
if you want the hardcopy statement send to your address, you'll be charged RM1 per month for the statement.

i just use normal tape. for AMEX, it is the 4 digits at the front side.

give it a try. you can set the limit by calling CS too.
*
I just received my card last week.
a question here: why is it 4 digits at the front side?
I thought CVV is usually at the back of there card, behind your signature there?
What's difference for Amex? I saw at back got numbers too. icon_question.gif

so the last 3 digits at the back of card (behind signature) is no use one?

Yeah all this is visible if they have M2U, which then makes the statement a not really important. My thoughts are on those who have no M2U.
*
In this case, if I want my rebate to appear & offset that particular month's spending,
I should ask for my statement date to be when?
I have just gotten my MBB 2 card last week. So now planning to call CS to enquire my bill cycle & change the date.
