Last week call CS to upgrade my gold cards to platinum, according to CS I will be charge rm50 for upgrade, will need to pay another rm50 for 'existing cards' as well. They said will get back to me on this, already 3 working days waiting for their feedback.

Did anyone cancelled the old cards and apply for new one? Do they have any T&C cannot cancel existing cards and reapply within 3 months?

Cancel the old so that you don't have to pay another RM50.

Thanks for quick response. If cancel the old cards, how can I keep the treatpoints?

QUOTE(BRY7 @ Jul 29 2013, 10:19 AM)
i believe that fee is for GST, not penalty for card cancellation
*
Yes, it is for GST, my request to MB card is to upgrade only, but they insists upgrade from old to new will be charge 2 GST. I've clarified with them many times, now waiting for their written confirmation.

You can request for the treatpoints to be transferred to the new card.

You will need to the the GST for the old card during your anniversary date, has it passed?
*
Thanks for the info, i'll go and apply new maybank2 cards before my existing GST anniversary.
My GST anniversary date is September.

To those who wish to upgrade their existing card from Gold to Platinum, see reply from Maybank.

QUOTE
Please be informed for any upgrade credit card, the service tax will be also imposed to a new Platinum credit card. If the new cards approved before the service tax imposed, you may request to close the Gold card so that only the Platinum card was charged for the service tax.

However, if the new cards approved after the service tax imposed, we could waive the service tax in the Gold cards subjected the Gold cards are cancelled.

My card was just used for a fraudulent transaction.  Only noticed it after a couple of hours as I was in a meeting.  Details : MBB:TQ for using your Maybankard ending 0248 for MYR2,999.00 AT APPLE SOUTH ASIA PTE L\\S  0;02/08/13;17:06.For inq call num at back of your card

Was angry because no one called me to confirm this, especially since I really rarely sign such a big transaction on a week working day. There was also no MSOS, really poor control.

Good thing is, the last time I used the card was at Toshokan Subang, so I suspect there is where the card details was stolen. Be aware if you are or have used your card there.

There have been numerous fraud transaction reported every month, if CVV no is not printed, can those fraudsters perform any transaction without CVV?

I just learnt from this thread that we can link other bank cards to M2U to pay bills. My question, is the processing time the same ~2-3 days?
*
Yes, last time I use maybank2u to pay my OCBC bill, it will take 3 working days to process, 10 cent processing fee apply.

not processing fee, it is GIRO fee (interbank fee) which has dropped from RM2 to 10 cents.
*
Thanks for correct me. Just double checked again it will show E-GIRO DEBIT consist of the amount you paid + 10 cent in transaction history.

I've booked a room at agoda.com/maybank, the final bill showing MYR, but when I receive bill via email it is charged as USD, so the final charging will be MYR or USD? rclxub.gif

MYR for sure. It will be under Agoda Hotel Reservation London GB.

I've chosen pay later on date 2-Sept, charging will be on the same date, Maybank CS only can see 1 USD charging right now.

QUOTE(zenquix @ Aug 31 2013, 01:36 AM)
my last few booking on agoda, a screen will pop up asking you which currency u want.

But if your screen show MYR, it should be MYR
*
Weird, my booking doesn't ask for which currency, shown MYR right away, but official booking confirmation email from Agoda stated currency in USD.

QUOTE(bearbear @ Aug 31 2013, 01:56 AM)
yes you can choose

1. Agoda direct charging RM
2. Agoda charge USD and bank convert to RM
*
Apparently the situation has changed, it doesn't provide option to choose which currency...

That is good.
1. For Agoda-Maybank Promo, if you use MBB 2 AMEX and select MYR for overseas hotel bookings:

a. will the final bill be in MYR or USD?
b. if MYR above, will there be any overseas conversion/admin fee? I.e. actual amount billed into your statement same as when you book?

Thanks in advance.
*
a. Confirmed final bill in USD. During payment it is showing MYR, after you paid it will automatically bill in USD, this is sucks! I'm being charged for 3.33 conversion rates! sad.gif

b. My booking is billed in USD, no admin fee. Total bill in MYR = amount in USD * 3.33
