Regarding post #2 item 13, some online transaction do not earn 5% rebate.

What do you mean by "some"?

If I'm planning to make online bill payment to water, electricity, astro, telco, etiqa takaful berhad and etc. on weekend, do you think I am able to earn 5% rebate?

p/s: electricity bill has to pay to Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB). Anyone of you know whether pay to SESB entitle me to earn 5% rebate?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience here=)

For Maybankard2Card AmEx is straightforward, no categories basis.
So long the transactions are processed during weekends, you will get 5% rebate.

As for your first question on the online transaction, you didn't quote the full sentence.
"However it is reported that some online transactions on weekends DO NOT earn the 5% cash back as it depends on the timing the merchant processes the transaction."

-Some merchants (for e.g. Dell) don't process during weekends, you may make your order on Saturday but the payment will only go through on weekdays. So you will not be entitled for 5% rebate.

On every good example is Dell online purchase. They process the transaction on weekdays, thus you are not getting the 5% even if you paid on a weekend.

From my experience, you will get 5% rebate with Astro. No experience with the rest.

Thanks for all of your kind explains notworthy.gif

doh.gif  Definitely not true. Very typical though and this doesn't only apply to Maybank staff.

Thanks for clarifying.. But still worrying.. will ask the staff to confirm with me when applying the card

This is another statement that make me doubt. (Refer to the attachment)

Don't worry. I'm very confident with my previous answer as I've been holding this card for more than 2 years. As a matter of fact, I was one of the first to get this card here... only days after this card was launched  smile.gif
Which part that you doubt ?

Refer to the attachment. "Maybankard" emphasize is for all retail spend on AMEX on weekend with T&C link posted there.

no need to worry...all of us here use it and petrol is always there for 5% if it's used on weekends

Good ^^ laugh.gif

Nothing to worry. This is the only card that I don't need to monitor so long my transaction is processed during weekends. I'll definitely get 5% rebate.

My last week's purchase using PayPal went through, paid at around on last Saturday's 8.00 p.m. smile.gif

Reflected on my bill on 25th. biggrin.gif Yeay, 5% rebate. biggrin.gif

Ok lo.. since so many ppl guarantee, i think not much to worry now

Thanks all notworthy.gif

Anyone know the possibility being rejected in applying this card? I just feel speechless when I knew my application was not successful yesterday.

I have submit all the documents they are required and meet their requirements as well. I really have no idea for it. Is it because of I seldom make transaction on my MB saving account? Or I do not have any loan or FD inside my maybank account? hmm.gif

Unlikely the reasons you mention. More likely:
1) You have no previous credit history (credit card, loan, hire purchase)
2) You have credit history, and the bank thinks you are over-credit.
3) You have credit history, but payment not good. Delay, non-payment, etc.
*
Most probably is no. 1 if what you mentioned is true..

Meaning I will be only successful in applying CC from those banks which has credit history (i.e. loan)?

If that is true, OCBC Ti and UOB One card will not be successful since I dont have any transaction/business with them, right?
