I did, that's why I thought why do we get two cards when they emphasize more on AMEX then?

By the way, it didn't mention about the RM50 cap on the Mastercard, so that's why I wanna know if the cap is for each card.
*
Marketing gimmick. or maybe because Amex is not as widely accepted, so they don't have to give more cashback and points biggrin.gif

There is no cap for its Visa/Mastercard because there is simply NO cashback, only 1x point.

Oh! There's no cashback for the other one? Haha, and I just assumed it has it. Thanks for the clarification!
And I think you're right, AMEX is not exactly that popular, so perhaps they're doing this. Although, I don't like why they must bundle those two together. I don't like unnecessary cards =/
*
Previously the visa/mastercard is useful for transactions in foreign currency.

how can i get my 6 digit pin?
*
For M2U, get it from ATM. Or go to any branch, the officer will help you to link.

time to jump to another credit card.

OCBC is my first choice, but reject my application twice. maybe consider UOB One Card  hmm.gif
*
I don't see why. Is OCBC / UOB one card giving higher cashback or points? wink.gif

OCBC titanium master
5% rebate on dining, groceries, petrol & utility bills
1% rebate on everything else

which is good for me, and is for everyday use.

By theory Amex is definitely better, but other than petrol station, i really cant find many place that accept AMEX,especially restaurants, reject rate is 90%.
*
In that case, that is nothing related to the increase of points needed for redemption at all.

i applying for mbb2card bcos of the weekend 5% cashback + 5x TP. But now i realise there are not many places that accept AMEX (for my spending habit) , and now TP value have depreciate, so MBB2cards is not that good for me anymore. <<< TP depreciate is related.
*
Well ok..though i still cant see the relation laugh.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Human Nature Do you know about MBB leniency on approving Platinum card if annual income only RM50k?
*
Hi, I do know there are cases whereby they approved a gold card even when the applicant meets the income requirement for platinum. So it is difficult to gauge. My suggestion, apply and if they give only a gold card, it is good enough as the cash back and points are the same.

Hi all, I read the 1st post & saw this example but dont really understand.
The AMEX 5% cash rebate is according to the transaction data on weekend / posting date?
Because the example providing is abit confusing.
Pls advise.
*
It is basically for transactions done when the end of a month is a weekend. You will still get the rebate, but the posting date will determine whether the rebate is given for the current month or next month.

means no matter when is the posting date. As long as I swipe the card & do the transaction on weekend, I will be entitled for weekend 5% rebate + 5x TP?

but 1st post FAQ says
*
Yes, provided you have not exceeded your RM50 cap.

Do note that some merchant do not process the transaction on a weekend, thus you will not get the rebate (example: Dell).

One OT question on paying bills using non-maybank card through M2U.

I have registered one non-maybank card, but when I want to do a bill payment (one off / favourite fayee), the non-maybank card does not appear from the drop down list of credit cards (From accounts). Any idea?

TQ

If redeem GST waiver with 12500TP online, when will the rm50 credit back to my account? It will be the same day or take few days to process it? It will credit into VISA/MASTER account, right?
*
Several days. Yes, Visa/MC.

It is just me or the treat points is less value nowadays. I remember last year service tax can be waved only by 10000 treats points but this time, needs 12500... the same applies for most of the cash voucher redemption.

thought VISA/MC & Amex is in 1 statement.
the redemption RM50 will remain as -50 balance for VISA/MC until we further use the card/till next GST charges coming in?
thought the whole statement can combine & use it to offset the balance statement for Amex?
*
I never try but since they have different account number, I dont think that is possible.

guys, i got confusion.

1) in my transaction for AMEX, i have Service Tax Debit RM50 and Service Tax Credit RM50. does it mean my GST is waived?

2) if i purchase item with 0% installment during weekend, how does the treatpoint and cashback works? we dont get points at all?
*
The GST is waived for AMEX, but will be charged to your VISA/MC

One thing about using M2U to view your CC statement - once you agree to view it online, they will no longer send you the hardcopy statement? Why MBB like that wan? sad.gif
I still havent receive my hardcopy statement this month (probably due to Raya), my due date is 1st Sept

*sorry if this has been discussed before
*
Yes, you will not receive the hardcopy once you agree to view it online.

I thought I could live without a CC.......but I gave in... =X

I've finally decided to join the CC bandwagon and after comparing all the different CC, I decided to go for the Maybank2cards  rclxm9.gif

Got my card approved (after hefty bugging lol) end of last week and still waiting for it to arrive at the branch.

But...all these fraud cases is really making me worried about the Amex card, after all, the Amex is the star in this card combo.

Just wondering, how do you guys keep your details safe? I read that some rubs/scratches their CVV number off but was wondering if there were other ways to it  smile.gif

And as for the GST, it will be reflected in the statement right? or do I have to pay upfront for it before using the card?
*
Some basic stuffs, never leave your card with someone else, make sure the site has https, not a dodgy site, paste a sticker to cover the 4 digits (for AMEX), set SMS alert limit.

The GST will be reflected in 2-3 months from approval date, then only pay.
