"Major service" my car just now, total damage 1.6k....
1. swapped 4 donuts from CC5 to XM2.
Once they took out my tyre, all problem coming, 1st, they discover front and rear hardly can rotate by hand, 2nd absorber leak....the list go on and i'm like WTF...sweating like waterfall.
2. front 2 rear 1 absorber leak, change all 4. both rear absorber boost are 'missing', no answer for that, have to add on
3. Front 2 brake bump jam, same case as
davidke20, piston oil seal broken, dirt is enter piston, service and change seal.
4. rear both drum brake bump jam and minor leak. Changed as well.
5. Rear both bearing jam, end up bearing seal bent, changed both.
CC5 vs XM2. Noise level same as before change, consider my CC5 adi worn until left 15% thread, i can conclude that CC5 road noise reduction is way more superior than XM2, XM2 is definitely over rated by forummer. Comfort level, XM2 is bumpy than CC5 @ same pressure, due to harder sidewall. Little consolation, handling wise is better than CC5, due to harder sidewall too. Steering feel lighter. I bet FC will slightly reduce too. Grip wise, not tested yet, but previous CC5 nv give me grip problem at dry or wet situation. Overall conclusion, if u want maximum comfort and average handling, no better choice other than CC5.
that's a big damage from nowhere.. but do you feel any difference prior during driving due to the "additional" issues found?
