most merchant don't accept Amex coz their charge high rental fees to the shop owner..even if the shop owner have the swipe machine..they will tell customer that the Amex sys is down coz they have to bear the 11% charges for using the Amex swipe machine...

anyway this is coming from my friend la since she is selling watches and always reject Amex card..

think only recently Petronas accept Ames card lo
