Hi guys, I just get myself a new Tforce AM2 setup. I am now on preliminary prime test at 2.5 GHz without any hardcore tweak. Just a simple latest BIOS flash needed to get to 250HTT easily.

I heard that there is a bug with AM2 stock BIOS which may hinder your OCing. So guys, first thing you might wanna consider after setting up is updating to latest BIOS. Modded BIOS is better since many options tweaking the RAM is unveiled to you.

So any tips for me. Hmm I wonder where can I alter the multiplier setting in Tforce AM2? There seems to be none. Unlike the Tforce 939 brother which the option clearly is there. Any ideas?

Not now, too busy doing something else. biggrin.gif

Hmm, testing the HTT limit, 300 HTT as of now. Not bad for a cheap board.

Finally manage to locate CPU multi option. It's in CPU feature above CnQ option. They changed it to there and rename it to "K8 something FID control".

Something really strange happen. Before this 2.9 GHz needed 1.55v and above to boot and still not prime stable. To make matters worse, after sometimes it hangs.

A little tweak to Tref (13) suddenly brought some life to my 6100 AM2. 2.91 GHz (291 x 10) only need 1.475 and bear in mind that I haven't tried lower voltage. I guess miracle does happen.

To overclock more than 230 HTT in my case, you would need a modded BIOS which carries the letter H at the end of its name (check rebels heaven). To add to that, memory settings is very crucial that it affects the HTT tremendously. I mean, scaling down the mem freq will not help increasing HTT. You need to give values (no to AUTO) to most of the DRAM settings in order to ensure booting at high HTT.

One more to add, after settings are applied via BIOS, the first boot to windows will set back everything to stock. No worries, restart the system again without going into BIOS to apply the settings you have modified previously.
