Refined a bit to accommodate for a m-ITX build. You want SSD, add on accordingly. Will break your budget though.

Intel Core i5 4430 - RM569
Asrock B85M-ITX - RM289
Corsair Value Ram 8GB DDR3 1600MHz - RM209
MSI GTX 650 Ti Boost OC 1GB – RM529
FSP Hexa 500W - RM149
WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD - RM194
Bitfenix Prodigy Casing - RM289
Lite-On 24x DVDRW – RM59
Viewsonic VX2336S 23" IPS LED - RM479
Logitech MK200 Wired Combo - RM45
Windows 8 64-bit (OEM), RM299

Total - RM3110 (prices are from Viewnet)

Optional: Plextor M5S 128GB SSD - RM359
*
Bear in mind the Prodigy is not small for a mITX case... Some mATX cases can be smaller than some mITX cases (examples include the Silverstone PS08, which has a volume of 23.85 litres, compared to Prodigy's 26 litres)

hai guys.powerock 500W vs FSP 500W vs corsair VX450W,which one is better? FSP is not available at my place so is there any relative differences between these few models?
*
There's no VX series... Only VS series...
The Hexa 500W would do, and the PoweRock 500W is fine (not the EX/KX series)

Hi, can help noobie here? been on laptop for 4 years, now finishing studies, want to build a PC tongue.gif

[Budget] 2k-2.5k (the lower, the better)+RM299 Casing

[Purpose] Primarily lots of photo editing+Adobe stuffs, and games

[Hardware that will be reuse from old rig] 21" Monitor (My sis want to giv)

[Monitor resolution] Forgot to ask my sis sweat.gif But I do plan to upgrade in future for better resolution (1080 maybe?)

[Game or software that use frequently] Adobes, future might be games. Been a while since I play latest games, but interested to try some included Assasins creed/Mass effect series. also PES/FIFA and some MMORPG

[Personal Preference Brand] I need Bitfenix Prodigy (Japan Edition from garage sale reseller) for several personal reasons (not because it's cute sweat.gif ), and optional, hope to fix into my budget a wifi mobo sweat.gif

can I fit in 7870/GTX660 into my rig? it's ok if can't (because I saw that these are recommended for BF4, also interested, but not too eager to play)

[Location] KL

oh, 1 more, is it possible to build a PC that have ability to support dual monitor in future with current budget? If cannot, how much should I topup? SSD can wait until next time maybe.. sweat.gif

Thanks everyone. If anything is ok, would buy them on next month after some financial planning done thumbup.gif

i5 4430-RM569
ASRock B85M-ITX-RM285
Kingston 1x8GB Value RAM-RM189
Zotac GTX760-RM799
WD Caviar Blue 1TB-RM189
Bitfenix Prodigy-RM299
-No optical drive-
Super Flower Golden Green HX 600W-RM299
Total: RM2629

Prices from GBros@Garage Sales. Note that the board doesn't come with Wifi, which means you will need to purchase a wireless adapter separately. FYI, the Prodigy is a massive ITX case. There are some mATX cases that are not much larger than this.

ok, no problems. noted about the prodigy. I actually plan to move it around frequently, so the handle on the prodigy is a great small additional feature. moreover, this is my first build, so smaller form factor might be a little harder for me to handle with cable management
thanks for this specs bro. this looks awesome rclxms.gif

a quick google find out that gtx760 is better than gtx660. is this true?

err, sorry, 1 more. 600W PSU is it too much? or your suggestion is because it's for my later upgrades?
*
Yup, future upgrades... Who knows if you want to go AMD R9-290X later on? brows.gif
Did you consider the Prodigy M? It's like the mATX version of the OG Prodigy. tongue.gif

By the way,why zotac GTX760 would sell at RM799 compare to GIGABYTE 1xxx? any idea? smile.gif

Better cooling (GPU, memory and VRMs), higher quality components for better overclocking potential.....

why so many recommend Asrock?
this brand is now become good already?

back in the early 2000 this was the lowest rank of mobo the market ever have
*
Yup, cheap and good boards... Their mATX boards are even capable of handling some sort of overclocking... tongue.gif

May I know why MSI board? And if I were to use Intel cpu, is that okay? Because some review I get from a friend, he said that AMD cpu need to be taken carefully, unlike intel's cpu.
*
Actually, I'd avoid this board.
http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-moth...m-info-database
The VRMs would overheat (due to insufficient VRM cooling) and may cause instability when loaded.
MSI boards have a bad reputation of having flawed VRM designs.
The ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 (RM275) would be a much better choice...

What do you mean by taken carefully? Most probability the CPU pins... (quite prone to damage if not installed properly)... tongue.gif

Would the performance varies in any way? I'm looking to one that have at least one usb 3.0 compatible tongue.gif

Meaning, AMD processors gets hot very easily, instead of Intel's
*
No performance difference, really.
Nah, that's a myth.... If you still remember several years ago, the Pentium 4s (especially Prescott series CPUs, aka Presshot) are much more thermally inefficient compared to the Athlons...

The only thing I hate the most is the noisy stock AMD cooler, it sounds like a small vacuum cleaner if you crank the fan speed all the way...

It's fine... Just you don't need so much such that you have extra budget for GPU and the CPU.... tongue.gif

quite expensive the monitor  shocking.gif  psu 500w is enough to handle games like dota2? my fren told me, it will get hot. any suggestion? isit possible to upgrade the other things? such as mobo? they said mobo must be top priority in making pc?
*
A 500W quality unit is more than enough...
PSU won't really gets too hot unless you have horrible air flow inside your case...
Mobo won't increase performance, but a CPU/GPU upgrade will give you a much greater increment. smile.gif

hye.. need suggestion

i want to build a new SFF pc
want to play latest game with good graphic
budget 5k

the most important thing i want in my build is
-must have amd radeon r9 290x card
-ssd
-custom watercool

no need monitor,speaker,mouse,and keyboard
*
Wait until the R9 290X to settle in pricing... The prices are currently inflated for now.
You are asking too much for that budget... Custom watercooling on SFF builds are NOT cheap. They can take up quite a fraction from your budget.

Difficult.. sweat.gif

Rough calculation :

Intel i5 4670K RM729
Gigabyte Z77M-D3H RM499
2x4GB 1600MHz ram 2x4GB RM230
R9 290X 4GB RM2199
FSP Raider 650W RM269
1TB HDD RM190
128GB SSD RM360
Silverstone TJ08-E RM299
Custom WC setup RM600-900

Dah berapa? doh.gif
*
Why are you pairing a LGA1150 CPU to a LGA1155 board? doh.gif
...and BTW, the TJ08-E is terrible at watercooling (unless the case is modded), and air cooling is much more suitable for that case.

It is because your budget allow dedicated graphic card that performs way better than APU.
Even a dual core g2020 RM179 + HD6670 RM239 will perform better than APU.
Plus, ITX mobo for FM2 socket is slightly harder to be found.

Ada... I think there's a MSI one... from Idealtech... icon_idea.gif
