i understand but some people like to push to the limit
like a colleague of mine he use like 50-60% of his salary to buy a last time to pay the car in 5 years time
now maybe less than that
but now he want to get married and unable to save money as he need to fork out more every month to pay car loan
i use 20% car 25% house sui sui

i'm arguing on the premise that it's better to take a shorter loan. so if i were to take a shorter loan, i'll pay a little bit more a month, but then i'll save 4k in the long run and for cut short my loan tenor by 2 whole years which i wont have to pay anything.

so taking your argument, you seem to think that in the long run you're better off paying less in the present (now) but end up paying more in the long run :hmm if there's no inflation. your idea will be totally incorrect. however, the rate of inflation is less than the total interest paid. so....
