here is one of my bro comment . i wish to post all the complaint at here!!!
================================================================
Price hike of international postage by Pos Malaysia Berhad (16 May 2013)

================================================================
High postal rates severely affecting business (16 May 2013)
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...24288&sec=focus

================================================================
EBAY SELLER Kuala Lumpur 16May2013
SELL products on eBay and and use our postal service to ship small parcels worldwide.
It is shocking that Pos Malaysia has as of yesterday revised the rate from a weight system to a flat rate system for international postage.
For example a small package to the United States weighing 200gm would cost about RM15 using the old system but now costs RM60, an increase by four times!
The reason given was that price of oil has risen. Please!
The price of oil and gold worldwide is falling due to the ongoing recession in Europe.
You are killing online sellers like me and also reducing your own volume of business.
We, as sellers, cannot simply increase the price of products to cover the cost of the new postage rates simply because we are competing with sellers from all over the world, especially China. Please review.

seems like it's true, starting price for packet to USA is now rm60...

send 500gram to Australia need rm75.
now Malaysia post rate is SEA most expensive.
now all packet they count 1kg price and up. even your packet just a small box weighing around 300-500g. doh.gif

jika kerja orang lain, jgn you ckp macam ni.

we all living under one roof. probably this issue tak ada kait dgn you
tapi jika ia mulai sembelih kami adakah you takkan kena nanti? adakah you boleh pasti
you punya kerja akan selama lama tak ada hal berlaku?

fikir saja la.. jika boss you kena , you punya gaji ada boleh naik?
ok jika boss you tak ada kaitan , ok, supplier site ?
sure got one source that will affected later.

dont say anything in-responsible.

if you do have any great idea to jailbreak from this rate,
i think alot of member will appreciate with your effort.

Its small rate adjustment to cover labor cost

POS Malaysia labor high quality, good service therefore reasonable

POS share price can rise $10 soon, my dividends can keep rolling into my bank acc

Should have done it years ago, Crony company better than blue chips company suka suka naik harga

didnt u know vision 2020 is about making Msia a primitive country where online activities is nearly impossible?
no freedom of speech online, lousy online system from government site which make ppl go manually rather than "click and done", and now costly online biz.

bro. i think everyone here who mengamuk have to google first whats up with the price increase. its not because of Pos Malaysia.

The postal service kat USA and Canada is under 1 union. As of early this year, the union demanded penyelarasan minimum wage and other things that made the postal services naik harga. I know this because i buy tshirts on a monthly basis from rockabillia.com and previously from 10USD per order now dah 18USD. and the effect goes both ways if you wanna deliver stuff to anywhere else from where ever you are that uses any services by north american and canadian companies. be it DHL, UPS etc etc.

sila sila google.

You guys misunderstood pos malaysia.

Actual postage rates still the same as before.

Just new policy forced you to pay more.

Sending 100gram packet to USA is same price as 1000gram as they charge minimum rate of 1kg per shipment.

And now you cannot send packet as mail so you pay 1000gram rate.

Please check the root of the problem before filling complaints so you can address the correct issue.

b4 the shipping rate is cheap, but now pos malaysia farked them by using flat rate 1kg fees, even the item is just 100g

china seller sell <$10 with free shipping, how to compete?

i never said it's right thing to do. but people need to point out the actual problem and raise the correct issues.

before pos malaysia charge min 250-500gram flat rate, you can also argue that it is unfair since you only send 50gram and have to pay for 250gram rate.

it's a private company, they can decide their charging rates, and if it's really uncompetitive people will switch courier service, or competitors will take this opportunity to gain competitiveness.

but chances are it'd be like Perodua/Proton case, even if they increase their price they are still the cheapest courier service provider so even if you complain you'd still end up using them as your courier.

that is what happens when consumer buying power is less.

why forcing us to paymore if you doenst use that much?
what if all the digi maxis celcom fix you  pay rm200 everymonth and you just using rm30 permonth only?
will it fair to you ?

Malaysians need to understand that there is no way we can compete against China sellers unless it's service provided stuffs.

90% stuff are made in China, so sourcing them cheap is not an issue.

Even if your postal fee is free you'd still have problem competing with them, since they can easily get their products for very little cost tru many backdoor means. And guess what, the cheapest price you can get is from those China vendors that sourced tru backdoors.

Wake up Malaysians, Malaysia can never compete with China when it comes to manufacturing. That is why Singapore and other developed countries switch to service oriented or higher end manufacturing.

maybe it's time for your business to change? so instead of selling light weight items you can focus your products on heavier ones so you gain maximum advantage over the new min 1kg charging rate?

or do bulk offers like buy 5 get 1 free so you actually sending 1kg per shipment instead of 250gram?

no i'm online buyer so less effected. have some stuff wanna let go now wanna relook at my "free international shipping" policy lol.

so what you selling? must be small items. Jewels? Accessories? Condoms???

anyway even if Malaysia post is free, it's quite hard for Malaysians to compete internationally.

import goods need tax
goods imported need to pay more to distributor
goods also left over

how to compete with China, Hong Kong when they can get their stuff dirt cheap?

This argument don't work when 90% + of kopitiam vote for PR.

It's purely PR's fault for not reaching out to the rural areas of Sarawak and Sabah. Stop blaming uneducated villagers for casting their vote on short term if you don't take the opportunity to educate them on their long term prospects.

me no seller but i wonder how to add value to your product when, you are just selling products, and all buyers care is great pricing and okok customer service. Buyers nowadays know they are paying peanuts and only expect the minimum from sellers when comes to customer service.

nowadays china seller all very fast reply, resend item (or so they claim they've resent) on broken parts, the offer free post, how to compete? the fact that many of them can get stock backdoor from factories means they can sell stuffs at 50cent and still profit.

again we tok about small time business, not ur milliondollar deals ya?

then we have all the red tapes, import permits, import tax, quota, this & that. original cost to import already higher than other countries somemore have to add this & that. current situation in Malaysia already shows malaysia can't compete internationally. most companies only cari makan locally unless they branch out to other tax heaven countries like HK & Singapore or Bermuda.

High postal rates severely affecting business (16 May 2013)

Please review.

seems like it's true, starting price for packet to USA is now rm60...

send 500gram to Australia need rm75.
now Malaysia post rate is SEA most expensive.
now all packet they count 1kg price and up. even your packet just a small box weighing around 300-500g. doh.gif

difficult, most high end stuff not manufactured in Malaysia.

the only high end consumer stuffs i kno, other than HDD, are Air Jordan clothes, i saw some are made in Malaysia but never sold in Malaysia.

Malaysians need to sell things unique, like customized stuffs, hand made clothes etc. but then again current malaysian generation already lost most of these abilities & creativity.

So how to say PR did not reach rural area when at West area also the police are helping BN to usher in this Magic SPR Box.

difficult, most high end stuff not manufactured in Malaysia.

the only high end consumer stuffs i kno, other than HDD, are Air Jordan clothes, i saw some are made in Malaysia but never sold in Malaysia.

Malaysians need to sell things unique, like customized stuffs, hand made clothes etc. but then again current malaysian generation already lost most of these abilities & creativity.
*
let me share with you some thing.

no matter how high tech the stuff u are making, if you are just HELPING to make it, and you just control the manufacturing part, you are forever fcked.

look at foxconn, they are making some of the most high tech consumer stuff, ipad, iphone, xbox, ps3.
But they are making 3usd for one iphone. and apple pocketed 70%( logistic,R&D,marketing, part purchasing)

intel and amd are making CPU's here. but that means nothing as well.

Not really.

Rural areas in Sabah and Sarawak most of them vote for BN. They have a fixed mind set whether its young or old that only certain party could bring them peace, stability and bla bla bla.

me no seller but i wonder how to add value to your product when, you are just selling products, and all buyers care is great pricing and okok customer service. Buyers nowadays know they are paying peanuts and only expect the minimum from sellers when comes to customer service.

nowadays china seller all very fast reply, resend item (or so they claim they've resent) on broken parts, the offer free post, how to compete? the fact that many of them can get stock backdoor from factories means they can sell stuffs at 50cent and still profit.

again we tok about small time business, not ur milliondollar deals ya?

then we have all the red tapes, import permits, import tax, quota, this & that. original cost to import already higher than other countries somemore have to add this & that. current situation in Malaysia already shows malaysia can't compete internationally. most companies only cari makan locally unless they branch out to other tax heaven countries like HK & Singapore or Bermuda.

some companies make profit by quantities. they are not smart enough to come up with full product so they focus on certain parts. I bet foxconn takes the schematics and follow it and only focus on QA/QC & cost cutting procedures in their R&D so it's like high class worker.

but slowly these companies have gathered all the schematics & secrets from various companies that they will start to have the ability to release their own products, and beating the price & spec of their clients, just like China Car manufacturers.

in china alot of high end products are Chinese Brands, TV, Hi-Fi, fridge and cost a fraction of other well known brand price. because for the past 30 years they have gathered all the information required to build these stuffs.

i'm not sure where you get the figure of 3usd per phone but it might be true. that is why all companies like China.

remember how Japan companies started? by turning garbage tins upside down to steal documents & schematics and work from there.

but that is for manufactureres.

resellers have way higher profit margin while lower quantity.

Calm down.

I agree with phantom voter, magic, extra ballot boxes and etc etc.

But it doesn't mean that no people support BN. I say most support BN not all right? Its absolutely not 50/50.

The lack of media is one thing but people here mostly old people do support only one party. They even tell youngster to choose BN to kenang jasa, for peace and etc. Heck, my place here during election...every eatery i go i saw people wearing and shouting hidup BN.

As much as BN is dirty, corrupted or whatever, don't disillusioned yourself by believing every result is corrupted.

actually if you have backdoor connections there are many things you can invest which will provide >50% return. many goods are still not available online, they may be cheap in the country of origin but expensive in others, all you need to do is buy A from country B and sell it at country C.

somethings are 100% highly sought after and doesn't require huge amount of money like property investment etc.

just need time to find them.

if you know friends in different countries that makes things easier.

this kind of business , from 1 laptop also can generate.. all the PCB schematics generate from PC.. all the mechanical drawing from same PC.. most valuable knowhow is in the person's head.. every thing sub out to the local service or even overseas.. from making PCB to metal fabrication..

value added service...

the one you mention is clearly manufacturing/assembly.

or at best you call it service provider who assembles electronics up to client's spec & hopefully not many people can provide the same service.

value added service are more towards things that doesn't come original with the sales, like after service sales, free gifts, warranty & support, special request etc, the value added service i see in your example would at most be the customizing area, in the end it's still heavy on manufacturing/assembling.

pls relearn your definition, yes manufacturing is one form of value added. didnt the GST/VAT examples tell you about value added TAX?

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/value-added
Definition of VALUE-ADDED
: of, relating to, or being a product whose value has been increased especially by special manufacturing, marketing, or processing <value–added goods>

why forcing us to paymore if you doenst use that much?
what if all the digi maxis celcom fix you  pay rm200 everymonth and you just using rm30 permonth only?
will it fair to you ?
*
u do online business but dunno? don't compare maxis n your business. one is service while yours is products based. They run in two diff modal n method. Let me explain why most courier charge min 1kg.

by air mail, usually u charter air plane to send goods around, doesn't matter if u have your own plane like dhl or ups or none. Two factor always limit which are the weight n volume. By volume mean how much space u take inside the airplane and by weight, mean how heavy it is

so your item can weight just 1kg but as big as large box. For courier company we see that as space wastage. same princple apply for small items. Bringing small items less than 1kg consume alot of space. Courier prefer u just buy one big box instead if small small box. Save sorting time and lower cost. Having 1kg as min weight is just ti cover cost.

The word customer first is a lie, for any company profit is first, customer only second. No point having alot of customer but marginal profit

are you sure Fedex USA also practise min 1kg rate? too lazy to check their website. in many countries they still start min with 250gram-500gram.

however 1 thing i can say, whether they deliver a 500gram or 2kg parcel, they still need to utilize same manpower to deliver from depot to destination.

well the good thing have own plane like dhl n fedex is that you can set your departure time n weight limits. I am sure u notice how fedex price is still way higher than pos laju increased rate? instead of paying min weight, what u are paying is actually cost to operate their own aircraft fleet. u gain flexibility but at a higher cost.

what pos malaysia do is charter flight, for example there a flight going to japan by japan air. Pos malaysia will rent an luggage compartment. Japan air dont care how many items u put in as long it does not overweight or too large. So let say u sending just 100kg but the max weight is 500kg. that mean u suffer an operationg lost of 400kg. Or one huge box tat take up most of the soace but weight 1kg only. Overall is stil cheaper than running own air plane to transport around

I wrote some feedback to Pos Malaysia few days back.
They did mentioned that they will revise the price. This is not a confirmed thingy though.
It's bad to small seller and will back fire Pos Malaysia in the long run.

It's absolutely crazy as you need to pay around USD21.53 to ship to US using slow mail when you can pay USD27 using FedEx for express service!
The new pricing needs to be reduced and also segmented into small weight range like 0-250 gm, 251-500 gm... rather than the below 1 kg, above 1 kg...

that's only applicable if one purchase high value item..

Nowadays many wimminz earn money (lotsa money) through selling ladies's clothing and accessories.

1 dress/blouse at around RM25 ~ RM30...

Then if buy 5 around RM125...posting cost another RM50...become not worthwhile d.

well you see,
cheap products use cheap courier service, (kangaroo)
normal product use normal courier service, (skynet, citylink)
premium product use premium courier service. (DHL, Fedex)

if need to ship to oversea then no choice, have to use DHL or Fedex.

We are talking about PosMalaysia international rate .... BUT NOT POSLAJU only~

Some of them mayb say that TUKAR COMPANY LAR ?

Ya, indeed, for express services .. yes.

Yet, how about parcel services and small package a.k.a. pos daftar ?
Do the other company providing these kind of "slow" services?

Sending parcel EMS to there 3-4 days, my experience for normal parcel is only (5-7) days, i dont mind for the 2-3 days.
Sending 1kg parcel to asia region <rm 40 before
Now becoming rm 65 , apa boleh buat ?
Instead of charging 250g as a range now become 20g/50g.

Tukar apa>? for cheapskate like me

where got. even cheapo screen protector rm8, buyer bear postage cost. So in the end buyer pay rm11-12 total. If using pos laju also the same, buyer need to bear extra rm7-10.

I know how you feel bro.

I too have been affected badly by this increase until i had to refund all my customers sales from the 12-15 because there were no notices or any heads up.

I've called them up and they said "SELL MORE ITEMS TO EACH CUSTOMERS". So i told them to sucks my balls.

Anyway i am already looking for an apartment in China and moving there by next month.

If poslaju do what pos malaysia is doing,
then yes, the increase will be substantial,
bcos all items now is considered documents instead of goods.

Yes.

That is the same thing that is happening at international posdaftar.
goods have to send by small packet starts 1kg no matter what the weight.

if poslaju also say goods have to send by parcel starts 2kg no matter the weight
then will rage again.

Long time didn't post anything over the seas. Is it really that expensive now?

I remember last time 1KG parcel to US&A is below RM100 via Parcel, sometimes i just use registered mail for cut cost lul. All withing 2 weeks arrive. Never bother to use EMS, expensive like piap2.

If locally, dont use postlaju, not reliable. I use courier service.
Internationally, if you are seller, switch to items that is paper type so can send as document. Once a while I send First Day Cover and stamps overseas. Havent sold any in recent months though.

hmm..logik also..
since u gonna be 'songlap' by those gahment ppl even if u do legit business..
license/permit application need 'kopi duit' else will the most common excuse is, 'eh borang encik dah hilang. tolong hantar sekali lagi'...eventhough that's ur 3rd time in past 2 yrs....

so since they gonna songlap..better invest in some activities with 'luxurious' ROI...

Thats why many dont use postlaju anymore. If courier service, just to ask them why havent reach the receipient, they cepat2 check and explain. As long dont shout like orang gila at them, service much better than itu post msia

For few minutes on their website, saw they added rates for 250 gm & 500 gm range (but no 750 gm, straight to 1 kg) at RM21 & RM40 respectively for packet to USA (Zone 4). But, it disappear shortly after that. Price were without register service (RM4.60).

Stop blaming magic BN or Najib lah no use. Remember Pos Malaysia is "Privatize" here, you argue your case with gov they just point you to go Pos Malaysia management.

You scold them "Mengapa harga postage manyak tinggi ni?" Pos Malaysia and gov can just say "Suka hatilah! kita tu company private, tak suka boleh diam dan jangan guna". rclxms.gif

Which book did u referred? Seems outdated.

Please Refer Postal Act 2011,Part VIII, Regulation of Rates, Section 37

(1) Notwithstanding section 36, the Minister may, on the recommendation of the Commission (in this case, MCMC), prescribe -

a) the postage rates to be charged by the licensees (Pos Malaysia) for services which are within the definition of universal service or non-universal service and may specify the minimum or maximum rates that may be charged or the actual rates that shall be charged; and

b) the publication or disclosure of rates and rate increases for postal services.

2) The regulations made under subsection (1) on the rates which the universal service licensees may charge for postal services -

a) a defined area of the universal service, on the principal that the rated shall be uniform throughout Malaysia; and

b) the reminder of the universal service on which the rates may vary for different geographic zones, or for delivery between different geographic zones, to reflect the differences in costs incurred by a universal service licensee depending on the geographic zone or zones.

3) The Minister may, by order published in the Gazette, exempt any person from the payment of any rates in relation to postal services on such terms and conditions as he thinks fit.

and if u free, read Part III, Ministerial Powers and Procedures

The Minister who approved the new international rate was Rais Yatim on 29 Mac 2013. whistling.gif

this 2 lines sums it up, may allows for a lot of leeway, its a loophole if you may.

in other words, post malaysia can charge as much as they want without seeking approval of the minister if no recommendation is given OR the minister sets a price too high.

so a minister can set a price x1000% of current price, post malaysia increases at x400%. no problem
post malaysia can also increase prices by 200% but no recommendation is given, minister cannot act.

i try to say the process of any increasing rates in postal services are like this:

1) pos malaysia recommend new tariff to the ministry
2) ministry will table it in cabinet meeting
3) if approved by the cabinet, then only minister will sign
4) to be gazetted
5) to be implemented

there is no such thing pos malaysia can increase suka hati

Just read here, Pos Malaysia's profit has actually increased even before the international rate increased. Since the price increase, I have done NONE overseas business, the increase is ridiculous, if 20 or 30% I still can accept, but it is 200 to 400%!!

To me, Pos Malaysia is kind of having monopoly in post service in Malaysia. It is unfair for us to compare the rate with other courier services like DHL, TNT because they provide fast service. For us, who do not mind slow mail and don't have big quantity, Pos Malaysia seems to be the only solution. If I am wrong...can somebody correct me because I am actually looking alternatives for Pos Malaysia surface service, slow with small quantity, of course cheaper price.

by right logic yes, but if you see that act has loop holes, the restricted tariff is only for cheaper rates, but more expensive its up to the ministers consent. to be fair also, post malaysia can charge as much as they want, break the law, ministry only course of action is frees (i dont see criminal charges), which post malaysia can do a dbkl on.

latter has been done before in very highly regulated industries.

ministry control is a bit different, less red tape

the statement only says the minister/MCMC may change the rates, but didnt say that the postage liscensee (pos malaysia) can do it without the minister advised.

I'm nt law student but they can simply imply that if the minister/MCMC may not want to change the rate, the postage liscensee can change meh? i dun think so lo, if nt they will come out wif the highest price regardless to law dy la

by right logic yes, but if you see that act has loop holes, the restricted tariff is only for cheaper rates, but more expensive its up to the ministers consent.  to be fair also, post malaysia can charge as much as they want, break the law, ministry only course of action is frees (i dont see criminal charges), which post malaysia can do a dbkl on.

latter has been done before in very highly regulated industries.

ministry control is a bit different, less red tape
*
No la, dun misled lah, any evidence that what u said post malaysia simply charge ever happened in malaysia history?

No matter what want raise postal price need to get taikor minister approval (any under table biddings we dont know lah)

Corporate, not cooperate. Should save your RM90 for English classes instead.

DHL, FedEx, UPS and TNT are premium express couriers. You cannot use them to compare with PosLaju, bengong...

as the bro say ,, fedex / dhl is provide Premium Express shipping. like 5-6 star hotel..
well the pos malaysia is providing no star , economy shipping (take 2-4week deliver) but they charge 5 star fees.
will you happy with this?

My main problem is the post office no longer accept small packet as a mail rate.
Even for 20grams small items they will charge you the small parcel rate of RM21.00 rather than the mail rate that I have been using for 5 years !

The photos of the Small Packet pamphlet starting at 1kg would put Pos in a very difficult situation in any other country. It's hard to know how to interpret the price update and later tweaking as anything other than management FUBAR. Has anybody tried asking for a partial refund on Small Packet shipments below 500g that were charged at the 1kg rate?

The price rise isn't that bad considering how long their prices stayed the same before May:

Only because we complaint they lowered the price but still that's 100% hike instead of the 200% hike which is still very high.
Thank God the post office staff knows me well because I been sending my stuffs at their place. The guy was telling me there's no way they will go back to the old price. Looks like this 100% hike is final. sad.gif

He did mention people are still furious because 100% hike is still very expensive.

YES, The price hike was marginal for many ebayers from RM 2.10 to 2.50.....RM3.10 to 3.60 etc...what many don't understand was that NOW since last Wednesday is that they do NOT allow you to send via 1st class mail anymore !!!they want you to send via small packages which BTW is a 4X increase in price...... zone 1 RM13 to zone 4 RM21.

i sent item to my bro in new zealand right after the 400% price increase. Even though advertised to be faster due to price hike, it reached my bro the same time (1week) as when I sent using the old price last year. So no improvements in service if you all are wondering. Just unreasonable price increase without service betterment...

Web2ship eparcel offer alternative for West Malaysia only. Check "update" at bottom of this page : Price hike of international postage by Pos Malaysia Berhad However, you must have a fax no and digital weight. eParcel only: Delivery to US is lower than to UK. However, each packages minimum RM10++. Lower than Pos Malaysia to US for parcel more than RM10++ postage. Lower than Pos Malaysia to UK if the packages more than RM16.00++ including Registered.

what da hell are you talking about, dude. u keep saying however... how many however is there in each transaction?

I've been to the website today and found couple of confusing things... 1stly... i am not allowed to check rate like other established company... i MUST MUST MUST register to know the rate... why i take the hassle to write 3 times MUST? bcoz
1- there's no guideline of rate in the site.
2- the "contact us" section clearly stated there "query about rate will NOT be entertain".
3- i called them and they still refuse to tell me at least the price range... the guy who answered the phone doesn't sounds like he's very committed...

after registering, you need to wait 48 hours to be approved. and then only u can check the rate... i've registered for like 4 hours now...

lastly.. there are testimony from ebay user who havent sold anything and have 0% positive feedback...??

I was away living in U.A.E for the last 2 years, i do not send anything from Malaysia since i can get most of the things in Abu Dhabi or just drive to downtown Dubai.. Spring this year i already back living in Bulgaria, E.U, sometime i can get home sick as so hardly to get Malaysian foods stuff. What i normally do is, when i in Malaysia i will buy all foods stuff up to 20Kg and send them out. It only cost me less then MYR90.10 <-- Something like that, but now it cost me MYR 483.00 .

No wonder recently my friend told me she wanted to send me a birthday presents, but she changed her mind after the lady at the counter told her the new price for her to send me the very light t-shirt. At that time i do not believe her, but now i do all this just doesn't make any sense at all!!.

Wanted to send a pair of earrings to my sister in USA today. The envelope weighed 30g only. I was told to pay RM21+RM4.60 for registered mail! I used to pay only around RM6.00 all in. Now RM25.60!

How to send small gifts overseas anymore? Have anyone complained to Pos Malaysia? I am desperate and I wonder anyway Pos Malaysia can revise the rate for small items like this? I am still holding on to the envelope without sending. I am a poor student. Can someone help, please.....

Why blame gov? Pos Malaysia is no longer gov entity. It's been bought by <insert name> . skit2 nak blame gov. Blame yourself for not being able to compete internationally.

No offense, but people in /k has been complaining about gov protecting local industry. Now, suck it up, today we talk about global trade, international competitions etc. You don't have economic of scale, you'll lose out unless you have criteria that others don't offer. Man up and figure how to overcome it.

Inb4 proton also cant offer cheap but decent car because of the same problem.

topic started May 2013

someone needs to learn what necro'ing is all about doh.gif

this is definitely a worrying issue as someone implied it is cheaper for an american to ship to a malaysian on small weight parcels and I think it holds true for australians as well (500g at RM38 for aussies, RM80 for malaysians)

and of course, China continues to slaughter everyone else around the world with cheap subsidised shipping, something msians can only dream of, despite retaining some form of cheap labor and manufacturing costs.

Sorry for necro-ing this thread, but I need to send a few boxes of instant noodles to UK. It doesn't matter if it is slow, asalkan sampai. Are there cheaper options than POS MALAYSIA?

Yes but buyers are not stupid. Imagine if you and another person sells something at the same price but your postage more expensive, who will the buyer pick? Unless your item is super rare and only you sell it laugh.gif I also make craft items but it's hard to justify the high postage cost (even I feel bad, the shipping sometimes cost more than the item), I already stop making anything new until I figure out if I can find any new shipping options/pricing solution sweat.gif

as i say if the item is mass production . everyone are selling same things.

my each parcel send out is rm30-48 perparcel. my profit margin from RM15ringgit drop until RM2-3ringgit.
sometimes even negative. therefore i memang tak tau how much i lose.
last week purposely check all the account . then find out 15k lose until this moment. wakao.. no wonder my bank amount became less.

I feel you guys, their international shipping rate is expensive now.

But come on, how often they increase their price? Every year? No right? When petrol prices went up few times, they did not increase their postage fee, but when they suddenly made a big change and you felt the pain, then everyone make noise.

Prices are going up everywhere, if they keep the same rate, how can they survive? How the employees wanna survive?

What if they increase the postage fee yearly, and the increment rate is low that you don't feel the big change. Will it be any different?

I checked, 200 gram from US to Msia also costs about RM40 d, and Msia to US you expect to be still RM15?

Pos Malaysia can't please everyone. So far, from my selling and buying experience, Pos Malaysia has NEVER failed me. I have not experienced missing parcels when sending or receiving. Maybe sometimes slight delay, but at least parcel is still is good shape. I received parcels in good shape, normal post from Japan reach me within 7-10 days. FYI, my parcels from Japan are NOT TRACKABLE, and yet they always reach me smile.gif

I believe all courier service companies are the SAME. Why? Because they are handled by humans. I received parcels from Hong Kong via FedEx before, 3 times, box dented. Of course, the seller packed in a weak box, but that doesn't mean that using FedEx/DHL/UPS will ensure that you'll get your parcel is good condition. My friend ordered Nexus 4 phone from the US, shipped via DHL, went missing.

I planned to expand my business internationally via eBay, but after doing some calculations, I know I'll be making loss. Simple for me, don't sell internationally, only sell hot items and make buyers pay for the shipping cost.

Conclusion, deal with it. You're doing online business and you depend on a shipping company. Once you depend on something, you'll have to take the risk. Unless you have a big company doing big business and get special rates from DHL/UPS/FedEx, then go ahead smile.gif

Please review.

seems like it's true, starting price for packet to USA is now rm60...

send 500gram to Australia need rm75.
now Malaysia post rate is SEA most expensive.
now all packet they count 1kg price and up. even your packet just a small box weighing around 300-500g. doh.gif

hi. im back.

since this thread posted . i hv received several purpose solution.

i been try some of them. and found out .
i think it may be good to recommend Company QS to replace the stupid pos malaysia.

here is some of parcel detail that i post out
and the bill i get recently

USA 0.158kg : RM15.50(with registered)
UK 0.158kg : RM14.71(with registered)

USA 0.218kg : RM18.50(with registered)
UK 0.218kg : RM17.41(with registered)
Australia 0.218kg : RM15.88(with registered)

singapore post charge is fair . and the online tracking system is fast.
delivery is much more reliable. i think it is good to use it.

disadvantage : their office is in shah alam only. therefore you have to ship all your parcel to them to proceed.
it make me abit uncomfortable at the very first. . by the way now sudah biasa. then became not much problem.

==========================================================

Pos Malaysia below 250gram : RM25.6 (with registered)
malaysia international tracking status is too stupid. update slow without any detail.
that make you crazy.

Care to share the company info?

Like phone number and / or website?

I googled QS postal Malaysia, QS Shah Alam, QS Shipping Malaysia...
takde result with most showing quantity surveyor. yawn.gif

Also, would a 4-5kg parcel would be cheaper as well in your educated guess?

Regards,
Anthony
