If i managed to buy a steam key for MGRR, why is it not possible to activate it normally? why the VPN?

I activated Dark Souls just fine after buying from GMG.

Amazon key has been proven region lock by one of our members here. GamersGate and GreenManGaming doesn't sell this game for our region and need to use VPN to buy. So far, the only way to buy directly without VPN is Amazon (region-locked key) and GetGamesGo (no one tested it yet).

Dark Souls only region locked because of GFWL while MGR is heavily region locked.

What is the reason for the region lock anyway. If they are doing it now that means that later castlevania lord of shadow 2 will also get region lock?

I hope not. That suxs. The first LoS wasn't region lock though.
