I'll be going to Macau and HK in Dec with my family. It's a big group, 9 adults and 4 kids (below 12 years old).

1.Which is a better place to stay: Sofitel or Royal Hotel?
As we have kids around, we want to stay away from Casino, so Royal Hotel seems to be a good choice with good reviews. I stayed at Sofitel before, and I liked the hotel service but the casino is horrible.

2. Which ferry service is more convenient to Hong Kong Island (Causeway Bay) if we are staying in Royal Hotel or Sofitel?

3. Or is it more convenient to rent a van/cab to HK Island as we have hyper-active kids jumping around. Any idea on the costs to hire a van?
