Hi, what is the cheapest way from Macau Airport to hotel at Macau city (near Hotel Lisbao 澳门葡京酒店)? coz the pick up service from hotel charges MOP$300 (about RM115) one way, very expensive.

BTW, how far is the distance from Airport to Macau city? I will go with wife and my 5-year-old kid, arrive at about 10:30am, but if too complicated way (need to transit at few places etc) also not suitable for us... Any suggestion? And how much does it cost? Thanks.

Hi, from the airport, just hop to the free shuttle bus provided by the hotel/casino. Which hotel are you staying at?

The airport is located on taipa island. Taxi from venetian (taipa island) to airport is about MOP35, so from Airport to mainland should be higher maybe double the figure. Let me know your hotel.
*
I will be staying at Metropark Hotel located at Rua de Pequim, No. 199, Macau. notworthy.gif

Do you mean just hop to ANY shuttle bus from any hotel/casino? Since my hotel is about 5mins away from Hotel Lisbao, so if I manage to hop into their shuttle bus, they will send us to Hotel Lisbao? But if got free shuttle bus can send us to ferry terminal is good enough already coz our hotel has free shuttle bus from ferry terminal to hotel nod.gif

Also any info about the ferry service from Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal Macau to Hong Kong? Only heard about TurboJET but is there any ferry companies offer cheaper ferry fare than TurboJET? Thanks notworthy.gif

OK, after checking google map here is my suggestion. From airport, take shuttle bus of Lisboa or Wynns (red) or Starworld (yellow) or MGM so that you will be transfered near to Metro park hotel. When the bus drop you at any of these hotel, just take a taxi to metro park, the most only RM15-20, remember taxis over there use meter so dont get overcharged. Saves you the hassles from going to the ferry terminal or lengthy walking since you have a toddler with you. Print out the logo, the address or a photo of the metropark hotel and show to the taxi driver.

Added on April 2, 2012, 5:03 pmThere are also cotaijet and new world. I have used turbojet and cotaijet, fare are almost the same depending on the time of departure iinm. You might wanna check which HK terminal that you wanna arrived at.

since you are not staying overnight, choose the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal at Shun Tak Centre, exiting at Sheung Wan station. From there, stop at the next stop, Central and take the Tung Chung line. Stop at Sunny Bay and hop to the Disney Line biggrin.gif

ok, I need to digest this one tongue.gif but I think I can find it coz went to HK Disney once, so as long as I go to right ferry terminal, I think shld be ok, thanks so much notworthy.gif

jz arrive at the terminal as early as possible as ferry ticket seems to sold out faster thn u expected.. first ferry @ tst china ferry terminal run nt so frequent.. (every 30 mins from 7am-10.30pm) compare to turbojet @ hk macau ferry terminal (every 15 mins - 24 hrs)

or u can try cotaijet (run from both terminals bt different sailing time)
*
ok...all ferry companies will stop at same HK ferry terminal, right? which ferry company's fare is cheapest? Coz checked TurboJET, weekday's day ticket HKD140, night ticket (after 6pm) is HKD175.

I think not much issue for me to go HK Disneyland from Macau and ferry things now, as long as I reach Central HK then should be quite firmed already coz just follow the MRT to Tung Chung then change to Disney's MRT. Since not much different on ferry fare, then only compare it when the time I want to buy tickets there smile.gif Thanks for all the inputs and suggestions, I really appreciate all your helps biggrin.gif

About the currencies...some people said just bring HKD to Macau will do, no need MOP also fine coz all shops in Macau accept HKD and its currency's value is slightly higher than MOP but treat 1:1, so it's more welcome in Macau, true? Coz thinking not to bring 2 types of currencies in Macau, very troublesome, thinking to bring HKD only since I'm going to HK also and maybe casinos as well tongue.gif Any advise?

i always use HKD only at macau, or sometimes even RMB coz yes, bringing so many currency is troublesome
*
so when we pay bigger HKD notes, the shop will give back small note/change in HKD also? if they give us MOP, can we say no or not? hmm.gif

most will return back in HKD, and if they dont, you can request for it  smile.gif if there is one or two that refuse, just spend the MOP at the next stop.

Any suggestions for shopping places in Macau? What is the popular souvenirs to buy? Thanks.

nt all ferry will stop at the same terminal. there is 2 terminal in HK.

1. HK Macau Ferry Terminal
2. HK China Ferry Terminal

and 2 terminal in Macau as well

1. Macau Taipa Ferry Terminal
2. Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal

it depends on where u wan to depart n where u wan 2 arrive.. usually ppl will choose to depart from HK Macau Ferry Terminal n arrive at Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal due to the sailing time is more frequent n the terminal in Macau Outer Harbour Ferry has more free shuttles to those hotel nearby attractions. Where as Macau Taipa Ferry Terminal is residing at the Taipa area.. usually it's convenient for those who wanna go to Venetian/City Of Dreams

actually the fares for those ferry companies r more or less the same.. jz tat some is slightly higher abit only..

Added on April 3, 2012, 3:35 pm

erm.. as for me, i din encounter any probs using big HKD notes at those shop or eateries tat i go.. they will accept HKD. unless some dun except smaller HK coins (HK10 or below) at the counter or near the machine during ur payout it will stated tat they dun accept HK coins.. so no worries..
*
will take ferry from Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal to HK coz stay nearby. Thanks for your reply notworthy.gif

Haha.. Macau is so small so what u expect from this tiny ex-portuguest territory. Honestly 2 full days are sufficient for whole Macau.
*
Actually I expect the delicious foods there rather than sightseeing drool.gif Other than the Ruins of St Paul's, other places dun go I also dun mind coz notice the famous churches there lookalike tongue.gif And most important mission for this Macau trip is to bring my son to HK Disneyland nod.gif

BTW, can someone recommend me my meals in Macau?

1st Day: Lunch + Hi-tea + Dinner + Supper
2nd Day: B/fast + Dinner
3rd Day: B/fast + Lunch + Hi-tea + Dinner + Supper
4th Day: B/fast + Lunch

No buffet please coz dun want to waste my stomach nod.gif Hi tea & supper is optional coz dunno my stomach can tahan or not, coz I normally take b/fast & dinner only...no lunch, no tea break and no supper doh.gif

I am not a food person so i dont recall much of the name or location of the restaurants i've been to. chinese restaurants with generic names, so plenty of local flavor there. particularly, macau is famous for its portugese cuisine.

African chicken at coloane (didnt try this but one forumer said it is nice, search this thread)
One cantonese restaurant at four seasons, the name escapes me
There is another michelin star restaurant at taipa worth a try
Bar florian at venetian for tea, if you are lucky there might be a couple of ballroom dance show
A couple of signature restaurants at grand lisboa and COD
etc etc, cant help much haha

ok, noted. will make more research, btw, still have plenty of time do find out smile.gif thanks notworthy.gif
