QUOTE(hmckl @ Sep 26 2009, 10:20 PM) So for those who had gone, would u recommend your hotel? How about those who had stayed in Ole London? Is it good? Stayed at Wynn last year and thumbs up for the location. I walked to most places since it's convenient. Will be staying there again this year

Will be staying there again this year A trick to save $$$ on transportation in Macau. Most hotels provide free shuttles to/from the jetty. If you need to go anywhere, just take a shuttle to the jetty and hop onto any of the shuttles. Use this to get to a hotel nearer to your destination and then hail a cab from there.

Yeah thanks so much. I first found out about it last year at the jetty. Was looking for the bus to my hotel. Boarded it and realized that the people on board just don't look like travelers. To my surprise, they are all gamblers except us

i'm planning for a trip to Macau this coming December.. is the place worth going in the sense that there are lots of interesting places for sight-seeing, shopping etc.?
anyway, does anyone know which hotels are near to the city and the rooms are in good condition with a reasonable price?
i'm probably taking the air-asia hotel package.. not sure if it's cheaper than if I book the hotel separately on my own...
please help! smile.gif

Macau is good for 2D1N only very small city. surrounded by bigger Zhuhai (Well 15yrs ago Zhuhai is smaller than macau..haha)
Shopping is lousy & not as cheap as HK or China. & Almost no street vendors (Like HK - Lady street & Temple St or Zhuhai nite bazzar, Shenzhen Dongmeng area)....
The best of Macau compare wth China & Hong Kong is it's Portuguese history & heritage. If u luv history, Macau is the palce. & if u are a gambler, this is also the place...+ the food...should try the portuguese fried rice...nice...

I stayed in Metropole before.. It is very well located but the the room is a bit old.. It is 5-10 mins walk to major attractions of Senado sqauare + st Paul Ruins.. 5 mins walk to the famous portugess tart.. 10 mins walk to Lisboa... It was USD110 for saturday stay and it used to be USD70 during weekdays
Another newer hotel around the same are will be Hotel Sintra around the same price..

How does the CotaiJet compare to the Turbojet, if I want to take the ferry from Macau Airport to HK, which do you recommend? I heard that CotaiJet is walking distance from the airport, is this true?

hi, to those who have visited Macau, may i know which currency to change? since pataca (MOP) is hard to change here, was advised either HKD or renminbi (RMB). am quite confused - which is more convenient and better to use in Macau? any advice is appreciated. tq

Hong Kong $$ is widely used in Macau.. no need to convert but I hate it when they change MOP once you gave them HK$..changing back to RM must be done in Macau..Otherwise susah to change in MY
