do u always crop ur image? if not then why concern?
Both are good phone. Just go try out and feel yourself since both come with difference UI which provide dif user experience.

BTW HTC One lowlight proven beat S4.

I have both
On camera s4 is overall better ( more detailed pics) than htc1 n loses to it slightly only on lowlight photo shots n speed of photo capture

this is my personal opinion.. think it like buying a car; Bentley and Ferrari (or any other sport car) are expensive cars.. design wise Bentley are more to a luxurious car, so normally old-rich people prefer it, for sport car, they are SEXY and that how i define HTC One    (while S4 is the Bentley, ugly or not, its still a beast).    so which one do you prefer?

Note 2 battery is much bigger than HTC One, if want to compare heavy usage Note 2 should have a slight advantage.

I believe the only 1 with visible noise is the last picture with the Iron Man, where is under very very low light condition, so thats normal.

you mean the low light pics?
because they look mighty fine to me, as a normal consumer (not camera pro etc etc)

Haha maybe because photo direct link from FB. But noise definitely do exist in small sensor. It is never a free noise for phone camera. not until they manage cramp awesome imagine processing lol

noises definitely will exist on on shadow and midtone 
hardly get sharp photo under lowlight..never success before in fact ;/
the fries not blur btw and I am using sharpening +2

From my 1 week testing with the camera, HTC One color is abit dull as pointed by agito666 before. I put saturation +1 most of the time. Color definitely more to warm especially on low light.

I dislike One don't have metering setting on the camera. The metering can screw up the whole image exposure most of the time since it seem using spot metering instead of matrix.

Other than that, I am actually quite satisfied with it Picture come out ngam my taste and good thing about 4mp, pic not big in size and also smaller resolution though the disadvantage come when you wanna do cropping.

Havent really tested video yet, no chance.

Special/unique features.. I guess as per advertise already But i hope they improved blink feed and Zoe to be more customize able in future.

so far everything is brilliant and i dun see any better phone out there...just get it...if u r not satisfied with it then there is no other phone out there will make u satisfied..

so far, again, i would recommend this as the best smartphone available in the world nowadays (not sure about next month and so on la.. lol)

i was very picky with smartphone.. if you were often in this forum, maybe you can recall i complaint here and there      .. even the best from samsung last time, Note 2, still has too many glitches here and there.. but this time, HTC one, the only thing i voiced out was the side bezel, in which you can see it is not very nicely done... other than that, this is the best thing in my pocket everyday, using it with a smile, not with headache as before.. i recommend this to anyone, especially to iphone user who want some refreshment.
